MUMBAI: Mumbai’s fuel prices soared on Saturday, surpassing Rs 100 per litre. The price of petrol has risen to Rs 100.19 per litre, while the price of diesel has risen to Rs 92.17 per litre.
Petrol was raised to Rs 100.32 per litre in Thane and Navi Mumbai, while diesel was raised to Rs 92.29 per litre.
Activists have asked that both the federal government and the state government reduce excise tax and VAT in order to provide relief to consumers.
Transporters are enraged, fearing that raising diesel prices above Rs 90 will have a negative influence on the economy and lead to an increase in prices.
