Amid rising COVID-19 cases Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has planned to get a full office makeover. Perhaps to fight the pandemic blues.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is an enthusiastic photographer and loves aerial photography. The walls of his chamber will be filled with photographs clicked by the chief minister. Apart from the chief minister’s chamber the hall where the cabinet meeting takes place will also get a makeover and so will the office of Deputy Speaker Narhari Jhirwal.

What is peculiar is that Shiv Sena was one of the many political parties to join the chorus in opposing the Central Vista Project when the Centre proposed it. But it is evident from Chief Minister Thackeray’s action that for his political motives the development of citizens and the state can be delayed.

Maharashtra is the worst affected state in this pandemic. Even if the cases are declining around the country, Maharashtra is still registering the most number of cases. Instead of focusing on ramping up the vaccination drive, insuring hospital beds, medicines and oxygen cylinders, the Shiv Sena and more specifically CM Uddhav Thackeray is busy beautifying his office.
