National Company Law Tribunal via an order dated 31.12.2021, directed its benches across cities to hear matters virtually from 3rd to 31 st January 2022. The said order came in the light of the current spike in covid cases and issuance of several guidelines/restrictions by the Central and the State Governments.
An excerpt from the order read as follows: “The Government of India and the various State Governments have reported a spike of Covid-l9 and its variant. The NCT of Delhi has issued Yellow Alert and it governs the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Other State Governments have also taken note of the spike of the new variant and have issued certain guidelines/restrictions. In view of the above, in order to ensure the safety of the Members of the Bar, Party in persons, Officers and staff of registry of all the NCLT Benches the present notification is issued as a temporary measure.”
On December 15th the Hon’ble Delhi High Court decided that the High Court and district
courts would function virtually from 3rd to 15th January 2022.
