A lady tourist was rescued by the Mumbai Police from drowning at the Gateway of India, Mumbai

Everyday thousands of tourists visit the Gateway of India, Mumbai because of its historical importance and boating is one of its major attractions.
On Sunday, a female tourist fell into the sea while riding a boat. This incident took place at the Gateway of India, south Mumbai. The Colaba Police and a team of Coastal Police immediately rushed towards the rescue of the woman from drowning.
The tourist boarded a boat to Elephanta where the incident took place. The tourist was enjoying the boat ride with her friend near the Gateway of India in South Mumbai on a Sunday afternoon when this incident took place. It was when the South Region Police Control Room got a distress call a controlling boat was immediately rushed towards the rescue.
The woman was found in the middle of nowhere, although she was wearing her life jacket, she was unable to swim due to the strong currents. She was saved with the support of two Coastal servicemen.
On reaching the spot immediately one of the policemen threw a rope and swam towards saving the lady. They tried effortlessly to reach up to the rescue boat. Even in the crisis hour the girl kept trying to reach to the boat with patience. It isn’t the first time Mumbai police has risked their life for the citizens. They rescued both the lady and a man.
The individuals rescued have been identified as Mr Vikas Salvi and Ms Nikita Damania, as said by the officials. After rescuing the victims, they were immediately rushed to a hospital near-by for a checkup. The girl is in a stable condition now.
The rescue team from the Yellow Gate Police Station, Mumbai included ASI Vasaikar, ASI Manoj Patil, ASI Jorvekar and a constable, Boondile.
The video has been shot from the Gateway of India, Mumbai. The clip showed how the policemen threw the rope on reaching the incident spot to get the victims to a safe spot. This video is currently viral on every social media platform, which reminds of another such incident which took place in July, where the Police saved a 55 years lady who fell into the sea from drowning.
According to Mumbai Police reports, the accident took place due to a strong ocean current which hit the boat causing the lady tourist to lose her balance and fall directly into the sea.
With this incident, the Mumbai Police Department (Mumbai Police) again showed its fearlessness and bravery. And has been praised always for risking their lives for the betterment of its citizens and not forgetting to mention the girl who never gave up, lost her courage she yet continued to try to swim even while drowning. The Mumbai Police department has again successfully made their citizens take pride and faith in them.
