The city reports fresh cases of COVID 19 and deaths as per BMC

Mumbai reports new cases of COVID 19 around 5,008 have been reported so far and deaths caused by COVID 19 is 12. The city reports the highest number of cases in the last 24 hours according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The city is currently witnessing a massive surge in COVID 19 cases, additionally, it is being driven by the Omicron variant for the past few weeks now. The city has logged over 5,000 cases compared to the 20,000 infections reported last week. Currently, active cases in the city count to more than 14,000.
With more than 12,000 patients being discharged every day, according to the bulletin the number of recorded cases has jumped to over 9,00,000. Mumbai’s current recovery rate from COVID 19 is 97% but the case doubling rate has improved a lot according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). As per the bulletin, 84% of the new patients are asymptomatic and 420 patients were hospitalised today.
