30 dead in a Bomb Attack at a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan

A bomb attack at a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan has cost around 30 innocent lives when worshippers were at the mosque for the Friday afternoon Namaz. It is to be believed that the mosque was a Jamia one which had around 160 people inside at the time of the attack. The explosion occurred as worshippers had gathered in the Kucha Risaldar mosque in Peshawar’s old city area for Friday prayers. More than 60 people are injured and have been moved to Lady Reading Hospital.

It all started when two armed men tried entering the mosque and opening fire at the policemen. During the combat, one policeman and one assailant died and the other policemen were injured. The other assailant then marched into the mosque and denoted the bomb. This led to severe injuries and the casualty number is supposed to rise further adding the Hospital in charge.

No organization has taken responsibility for the attack yet. The police have been collecting pieces of evidence and trying to get to the crux of the situation.

While on the other hand PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif offered condolences to the families of those martyred in the attack.
