Imran Khan, Pakistan’s prime minister, said the nation would stand against elements looking to take over him by “buying the conscience of the [lawmakers] using money”.
Joined politics for the well-being of Pakistani youth; Imran Khan stated.
As Imran khan attacked the opposition in Pak parliament that he didn’t join politics to keep tabs on the price of “aloo & tamatar”, he asked not to blame him for the economy amidst high inflation.
The prime minister told a political rally in Hafizabad, Punjab, that the nation would stand against elements attempting to take over his government by “buying the conscience of the [lawmakers] using money”.
Pakistan will become a great country soon and incentives by his government will have results in the future.
Imran Khan further stated that 25 years ago, he joined politics to benefit the youth, also adding that he already have everything a person could dream of as he was a famous cricketer.
“I didn’t join politics to know the prices of ‘aloo and tamatar‘. I joined it for the sake of the country’s youth” and “If we want to become a great nation, we will have to support the truth, and this is what I have been preaching for the last 25 years,” Mr. Imran khan stated.
In January, Pakistan’s overall inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached a 24-month high of 13%, as prices of practically all goods and services continued to rise.
The Highest CPI inflation was recorded since January 2020 when it was 14.6 percent.
This came only days after the unified opposition front filed a no-confidence motion against him, staking its hopes for the motion’s success on the ruling party’s alienated members and supporters.
The key leaders of the Opposition parties will meet on Monday at the residence of the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif will conduct a discussion meeting to develop an efficient approach for resolving the no-confidence vote.
Mr.Imran Khan also said it’s the state and judiciary’s responsibility to stop the “corrupt” &”convict” who are trying to topple the state through horse-trading.
He said the people will see that those trying to dislodge him from the top office would get buried under the weight of their conspiracy.

Among 342-member National Assembly, the Opposition needs 272 votes to topple the prime minister.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan became PM in 2018 and the next round of elections will be in 2023.
