Vishwa Thacker, Mumbai Uncensored, 2nd May 2022:
In a shocking case that has surfaced in Mumbai, the body of a 19-year-old girl was found washed ashore on Thursday evening. The deceased is identified as a Premnagar resident of Goregaon west named Sonam Shukla. 23-year-old Shahjib Ansari has been booked for murdering her and dumping her body in Malad creek.
The two were having an affair for a year until Ansari lost his cool one day and a fight broke out between them following which he beat Sonam up and later strangled her with an internet cable. It is said that the murder took place somewhere around 10 pm on April 25. He then bought a sack, tied her body up with the same wire, stuffed her inside, and waited for late night to dump it into Malad creek.
Sonam had completed her HSC and lived with her parents and two siblings. Ansari was preparing for CS exams.
On the day of the murder, the deceased left home around 4.30 pm and did not return until night when her parents tried calling her. They couldn’t reach her and her phone was turned off. The next day her family approached the police and filed a missing complaint.
Based on the suspects given by the woman’s family, police narrowed down and reached Ansari. They even found an eyewitness who confirmed seeing Ansari carrying a sack on his vehicle.
“We will produce the accused before a magistrate court on Sunday”, said Versova police senior inspector Siraj Inamdar.
