Ivana Trump, a Czech American businesswoman and the first wife of former US president, Donald Trump, dies at the age of 73.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump said in a post on the social medial platform Truth Social.
Two law enforcement officials said that New York City police were investigating whether Trump went down the stairs at her Upper East Side townhouse. According to one of the officials, the residence showed no signs of forced entry, and the death appeared to be an accident.
“Our mother was a remarkable lady – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and compassionate mother and friend,” said her children Eric, Donald Jr., and Ivanka Trump in a family statement shared on Facebook.
She was described by Donald Trump as “a wonderful, attractive, and amazing woman, who led a tremendous and inspirational life” on his social media site. “Rest In Peace, Ivana,” he said.
