SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files were among the big winners at the Dadasaheb International Film Festival Awards 2023. RRR received the International Film of the Year award while The Kashmir Files won Best Film. Vivek Agnihotri shared the news on Twitter, dedicating the award to all victims of terrorism and the people of India.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor also had a successful night, both taking home awards for their performances. Alia won Best Actress for her portrayal of Gangubai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Ranbir was named Best Actor for Brahmastra. Rishabh Shetty, known for his role in Kantara, was awarded Best Promising Actor.
Critics Best Actor was given to Varun Dhawan for Bhediya, and Anupam Kher was recognized as Most Versatile Actor for his role in The Kashmir Files. Rekha was also honored for her contribution to the film industry.
The festival aims to acknowledge and support new projects in the Indian film industry by showcasing them to mainstream audiences.
