Shikhar Dhawan, captain of the Punjab Kings, won the toss and chose to bat first at Eden Gardens. Despite losing Prabhsimran Singh, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Liam Livingstone during that time, they managed to score 58 runs while on the power play. Then, in the middle over, Dhawan and Jitesh Sharma set up a 53-run partnership for the third wicket, securing the victory for Punjab. Dhawan defeated Nitish Rana of the KKR after scoring 57 out of 47.

Brar had a score of 17 off 9, while Shahrukh had an undefeated 21 off 8 score. In response, KKR struggled to get any traction throughout the powerplay, and as a result, they now need more than 50 runs to win in the final five overs. But Andre Russell changed the situation in the 19th over with three sixes.

Andre Russell had limited space, but he somehow twisted his body to throw a length toss that was tilted on his pad over square-leg for a beautiful game-changing six. The third delivery of the last over came next, and this time, he was prepared for it.

He cleared his front foot and lofted the ball over midwicket. Sam Curran’s bowling has been very ordinary this season, and he delivered width and short length with the next ball, which was returned from outside the point boundary. Russell repeatedly pounded his bat, as is his habit. Probably a loving gesture.

Rinku joins in the fun

In order to signal his presence, Rinku Singh hit a six off Nathan Ellis. Ellis had bowled brilliantly thus far, but in this over, he allowed 15 runs to score. A 36-ball total is needed for KKR. They currently appear to be ahead with Russell and Rinku at the goal crease. Following a 17.2 victory against Kolkata Knight Riders, 148/4  He began the last over with a bouncer and two full tosses while defending 6, but nevertheless it ended up being 4 from 3 since the batsmen had little success with the full tosses. Andre Russell had to stretch out to scoop-slog for a few runs as Arshdeep Singh angled the following ball farther outside off. The wicketkeeper threw the ball back to him after a beautiful outside-off yorker length that was crushed under the bat. To prevent Russell from making a last-ditch effort, Arshdeep gathered himself, turned around calmly, and gently pinged the stumps. Since Rinku Singh was on strike, 2 were now required from the final ball. At the dugout, Russell downed a glass of water.
