In a candid interview with The Dirty Magazine, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor shared insights into her life, discussing her marriage with Anand Ahuja, the changes in her body post-pregnancy, and her thoughts on the roles she’s being offered. The 39-year-old actress, who recently became a mother to her son Vayu, expressed her feelings about being cast in roles meant for much younger characters.

On Being Offered Youthful Roles

Sonam Kapoor revealed her surprise at still being considered for roles typically given to 20-somethings. She shared, “It’s flattering but also weird. I was recently offered a role of a girl whose parents want to get her married, and another one as a schoolgirl who becomes a sportsperson. It’s strange because I expected these roles to be split between a younger actor and myself, but they wanted me for both parts! The idea of de-aging me is not something I’m comfortable with.”

Embracing Her Age

Despite the unusual casting offers, Sonam expressed gratitude for being perceived as youthful. She compared herself to her younger cousins, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, saying, “Obviously, I don’t look as young as Janhvi or Khushi, but I’m grateful that people think of me as someone who hasn’t aged much. Even after having a child, it’s nice to feel that way.”

Balancing Life Between India and the UK

Sonam and Anand Ahuja welcomed their son Vayu in 2022. After relocating to London, Sonam took a hiatus from her acting career but now splits her time between India and the UK. Her last major role was in “The Zoya Factor” in 2019, followed by a cameo in Vikramaditya Motwane’s thriller “AK vs AK,” which premiered on Netflix India in December 2020.
