A tragic incident has unfolded in Mira Bhayandar, Maharashtra, where a 17-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh lost her life to an apparent suicide. The young victim was allegedly lured to Mumbai by her 20-year-old boyfriend under the false promise of marriage.
According to police reports, the accused boyfriend and a 22-year-old accomplice sexually assaulted the minor on multiple occasions at their residence in the Penkarpada area of Kashimira. Unable to endure the physical and emotional trauma, the girl took the extreme step of ending her life.
The horrific incident came to light when the landlord of the tenement discovered the girl’s lifeless body. Following a complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the boyfriend was arrested and booked under stringent charges including kidnapping, abduction, child procurement, rape, and abetment to suicide. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
