On the occasion of Women’s Day, we honour ten exceptional Indian women leaders whose vision, courage, and relentless pursuit of excellence are shaping the nation’s present and future.
Across diverse fields and industries, these trailblazers have broken barriers, challenged conventions, and redefined what leadership truly means. Their journeys are not just stories of success, but powerful testaments to resilience, purpose, and the transformative impact of women who lead with conviction.
Masaba Gupta, Founder – House of Masaba
Masaba Gupta, renowned as one of India’s foremost fashion designers, has carved an inspiring path in the industry, overcoming challenges tied to her mixed heritage with unwavering determination. The daughter of veteran actor Neena Gupta, Masaba embarked on her fashion journey at just 19, debuting with a collection at Lakme Fashion Week. Armed with a degree in Apparel Manufacturing and Design, she initially explored the world of dance, earning accolades in college.
Masaba’s innate flair for fashion, coupled with a passionate attitude, led her to recognize her true calling. Balancing creativity, commercial appeal, and functionality, she founded ‘House of Masaba,’ her eponymous label that has garnered widespread acclaim. Breaking barriers, she became the first Indian designer to host a fashion show on Instagram, showcasing her innovative approach.
Despite initial challenges, Masaba’s persistence and creative prowess have seen her collaborate with renowned fashion brands.
Arzoo Bhatia, Founder – Haal Chaal with Arzoo, Psychotherapist & trauma-informed healer
Arzoo Bhatia is a psychotherapist, trauma-informed healer, and the founder of Haal Chaal with Arzoo, a psychosomatic healing space that integrates psychotherapy, nervous system regulation, naturopathic medicine, and ancient Shakta wisdom. Her work supports whole health and resilience by addressing the deep interconnection between mind, body, emotion, and spirit.
Arzoo’s path into healing was shaped not only by formal training, but by lived experience. Her work emerged from personal inquiry, inner upheavals, and a commitment to understanding the roots of suffering and transformation. Through her own engagement with therapy, embodiment practices, and spiritual study, she came to recognise that healing is not about fixing symptoms alone. It is about restoring safety, power, and truth within the body. This insight became the foundation of everything she offers through Haal Chaal.
Her professional journey has been distinctly nonlinear. She began within conventional psychotherapy, where she gradually encountered the limitations of approaches that overlooked the body, energy, and feminine wisdom. Over time, she expanded her training across somatic therapy, trauma-informed practices, spiritual inquiry, and energy healing. Alongside this learning, she also undertook the work of unlearning deeply embedded conditioning around productivity, worth, and conventional measures of success.
Today, Arzoo’s work represents a grounded synthesis of science and sacredness. She supports a global clientele through collaborative, body-based, and trauma-sensitive practices. Her holistic approach is currently being piloted in a clinical setting in Delhi, while her workshops across India continue to expand each month. In addition, her latest offering explores emotionally intelligent perfumery as a medium for healing, memory, and embodied awareness.
Arzoo draws inspiration from women across history and in her own life who reclaimed their voices after being silenced. She also honours her younger self, whose resilience, questioning, and refusal to disappear continue to guide her work. Spiritually, she is deeply inspired by the archetype of Ma Kali, representing truth, power, and liberation beyond fear.
As a woman, one of her greatest challenges has been remaining rooted in her truth while navigating expectations to be agreeable, contained, or smaller than her power. Visibility, authority, and financial independence continue to invite resistance for women, particularly within healing and spiritual spaces. Learning to stand unapologetically in her work has been a defining initiation.
Outside her professional life, Arzoo prioritises practices that keep her grounded and regulated, including kickboxing, spending time in nature, and being with her family and pets.
For Arzoo, success is not a destination but a state of coherence between who she is, how she lives, and what she offers. Everything she teaches is something she actively practices. Through her story, she hopes to offer permission, especially to women, to trust their inner authority and redefine success on their own terms.
Monica Batra, Founder – Fat Lulu’s & Daisy Mae Cantina
Monica Batra is an entrepreneur in the F and B space, leading two vibrant brands under her umbrella: FAT LULU’s, known for its Italian offerings, and Daisy Mae Cantina, a Mexican concept that brings bold flavours and lively experiences to the table. Both brands reflect her creative instinct and ability to build spaces that feel immersive and memorable.
Interestingly, her journey into hospitality was not planned. With a background in interior space design, Monica was initially approached to design the first restaurant for FAT LULU’s. At a time when she was considering a shift in her professional direction, she chose to partner in the venture instead of charging a design fee. What began as a design assignment turned into a smooth yet bold transition into an entirely new industry.
Coming from a design background, Monica has always been driven by the thrill of creating something from scratch. In the F and B world, she learned on the job, navigating everything from naming the brand and building the team to curating menus, designing packaging, managing social media, and overseeing PR. Expanding into events and outdoor catering added another vertical to the business, making the journey intense, dynamic, and deeply fulfilling.
Her inspiration stems from a simple yet powerful belief: to remain humble while striving for success. She draws motivation from many individuals whose stories and journeys offer insight and value. For her, success is shaped by collective inspiration rather than a single role model.
Entering a completely new line of business required constant learning and adaptation. While there were challenges, she credits her strong and supportive team for turning obstacles into opportunities. Their collaboration has been central to her growth.
Beyond business, Monica is deeply creative. She loves sketching and painting, has studied commercial art and NIFT, and was once a news reader with ABN. She also prioritizes fitness and hopes to learn the piano someday.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple. Every journey is unique. The new generation has much to teach, and staying open to learning keeps you evolving. For Monica, even the “oops” moments have transformed into meaningful “aha” experiences, shaping her path forward.
Dr. Soma Sarkar, Dermatologist
Dr. Soma Sarkar chose dermatology in 2005 with a very practical vision in mind. At the time, it was considered a non-emergency specialty that allowed structured working hours and a balanced nine-to-five lifestyle. That was her primary reason for pursuing it as her MD subject. However, by the time she completed her training, the landscape of dermatology had evolved dramatically. Aesthetic medicine was growing rapidly, market demands were shifting, and the specialty was transforming into one of the most dynamic and lucrative fields in healthcare. What began as a decision rooted in stability turned into an opportunity filled with expansion and impact. In hindsight, she describes it as serendipity that worked in her favour.
Coming from a humble middle-class background, her journey was built on discipline and perseverance. Born and raised in Ambernath, she travelled nearly two hours each way to Navi Mumbai for her graduation and post-graduation. Later, during her professional years, she continued commuting long distances from Ambernath to Bandra. Carrying books, travelling for hours daily, and balancing intense academic and clinical demands were part of her routine for years. These were challenges, but never barriers.
Today, she runs a successful dermatology practice based in Bandra for nearly two decades, with additional clinics in Bangalore and Goa. Beyond clinical practice, she has built multiple verticals including a content platform, a training academy, and active involvement in software development solutions designed to help doctors manage their clinics more efficiently. Her journey has evolved far beyond medicine into entrepreneurship and innovation.
She draws inspiration from strong global women such as Indra Nooyi, Malala Yousafzai, Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Priyanka Chopra. What inspires her most is their grit, wisdom, and refusal to wait for validation. She believes powerful women create their own identities rather than waiting for permission.
Her path has not been without resistance. She has faced rejection, exclusion from professional platforms, bullying within her fraternity, and exploitation in corporate environments. There were moments when she was not offered a seat at the table. Over time, she learned that when you are not invited, you build your own table.
Beyond her professional world, she is also a dedicated single mother to her 13-year-old son. For her, success is not just about recognition, but about resilience, reinvention, and choosing courage over shortcuts.
Dr. Soma Sarkar firmly believes that true success begins with courage and integrity. When intent is clear and integrity is unwavering, achievement becomes inevitable. While she acknowledges that money is important, she emphasizes that it should never be the sole focus. Financial growth is a natural outcome of excellence, not the foundation of it.
She advocates striving for excellence every single day. Push your limits. Refine your craft. Improve continuously. When you commit to mastery instead of shortcuts, rewards follow organically. Her message centers on consistency and focus. Do not lose hope during challenging phases. Do not allow distractions to derail your path. Stay disciplined, stay committed, and remain aligned with your purpose.
For Dr. Soma Sarkar, success is not a single milestone. It is a mindset shaped by integrity, perseverance, and the courage to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacles.
Ridhima Vashisth, Mindset and Law of Attraction coach
Ridhima Vashisth is a fashion and lifestyle content creator, mindset and Law of Attraction coach, with experience in selective fashion and lifestyle modeling. Her work blends elegance, self mastery, and intentional living, combining refined visual aesthetics with deep inner alignment.
Her journey began organically during her years of study, when she explored modeling and fashion on a selective scale. As she grew personally, she found herself increasingly drawn to mindset work, self awareness, and conscious creation. What started as an interest in style and presentation gradually evolved into purpose driven content and coaching centered around confidence, manifestation, and inner growth.
Over time, Ridhima built a refined digital presence and a loyal Instagram community of over 16,000 followers. She shares curated content around styling, affirmations, wellness, emotional balance, and manifestation. Her modeling experience has remained intentional and selective, complementing her larger vision rather than defining it. Every collaboration she chooses reflects alignment, quality, and creative integrity. Her journey represents conscious evolution, where internal development and external expression coexist seamlessly.
She draws inspiration from self made women who embody grace, clarity, and self respect. Women who lead with quiet power and unwavering self belief inspire her deeply. As a woman building her own path, she has faced assumptions, external expectations, and unsolicited opinions. Learning to establish boundaries, maintain self trust, and prioritize alignment over approval has been central to her growth.
Beyond her professional work, she is deeply committed to wellness, yoga, mindful living, and continuous self education. Studying mindset, emotional regulation, and personal refinement is not separate from her work. It forms the foundation of everything she creates.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals is clear: believe in your vision even when it feels quiet. Build depth before visibility and self mastery before success. Move with intention rather than urgency. Do not wait for validation. Develop skills, stay disciplined, and align your inner world with your external goals. When alignment is strong, results follow naturally.
For Ridhima, success is not measured by numbers alone. It is defined by growth, alignment, impact, and authenticity. Her story is still unfolding, shaped by purpose, refinement, and quiet confidence.
Anisha, Digital Creator, Mom Influencer
Anisha is the creator behind MomzDiary, a platform rooted in honest conversations around motherhood, wellness, and modern womanhood. Through her content, she shares real experiences that resonate with women navigating career, parenting, health, and self growth.
Professionally, she wears two strong hats. She is a digital content creator and influencer, while also holding a leadership role in the education sector, where she focuses on building and scaling impactful learning solutions. Her work in education reflects her commitment to meaningful change at scale, while MomzDiary allows her to build impact through personal connection and storytelling.
Her journey began organically. As a young working mother balancing multiple roles, she started sharing small, authentic moments from her life online. What began as personal expression gradually evolved into a trusted community of women who found comfort, relatability, and strength in her voice.
Over the years, her path has been defined by both personal evolution and professional ambition. She has balanced corporate leadership with content creation, motherhood with aspiration, and vulnerability with resilience. Through MomzDiary, she has built a space that celebrates real motherhood, not perfection but progress. At the same time, her professional contributions in education continue to create structured, measurable impact.
She draws inspiration from everyday women who manage multiple identities with quiet strength. As a woman and a mother, one of her greatest challenges has been navigating expectations. The pressure to be fully present at home while pursuing professional growth often brings guilt. Unlearning the belief that ambition compromises motherhood has been part of her transformation.
Beyond her professional world, she prioritizes health and mindful living. Pilates, structured routines, and documenting life’s small moments help her stay grounded and present.
Her message to aspiring professionals is empowering. You do not have to choose between your roles. You can expand within them. Growth is rarely linear, especially for women. Start before you feel ready, stay consistent, and allow your journey to evolve. Your pace is valid, and your voice matters.
Dr. Mansee Lodd, Consulting Orthodontist
Dr. Mansee Lodd is a consulting orthodontist who views her profession as the art and science of crafting confident smiles. Working with both braces and aligners, she operates as an independent consultant, partnering with clinics to design customised orthodontic treatments that prioritise both oral health and aesthetics. For her, orthodontics goes beyond straightening teeth; it is about helping individuals step into the world with confidence and ease.
With her father being an orthodontist, the profession was always within sight. Having witnessed the transformative impact of his work and having undergone orthodontic treatment herself, the field naturally drew her in. The decision became clear during her third year of undergraduate studies, when she recognised orthodontics as the perfect intersection of art, science, and empathy. What began as a family influence soon evolved into a deeply personal passion.
Her professional journey has been marked by steady growth, with residency proving to be the most demanding phase. Transitioning from undergraduate dentistry to postgraduate orthodontics was a steep learning curve, as the speciality requires an entirely new way of thinking. Immersed in biomechanics, precision, and fine technical detail, those three years taught her that orthodontics is as much about patience and consistency as it is about skill.
Her greatest inspiration remains her father, not only for his clinical expertise but for his unwavering integrity and work ethic. From him, she learned that trust is the foundation of a doctor’s reputation. As a young woman in the field, she has navigated what she describes as an “authority gap,” where a soft-spoken demeanour is often mistaken for inexperience. Over time, she has learned to let her clinical results and patient care speak for themselves.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Lodd enjoys reading, writing, and travelling. She uses digital storytelling to make orthodontics feel more approachable and human, particularly on social media. Travel, whether leisurely or spiritual, helps her reset and return to work with renewed clarity.
At this early stage of her career, she views success not as milestones but as meaningful human connections. For her, true achievement lies in earning a patient’s trust and witnessing the moment they feel comfortable enough to smile freely.

The nurturing environment at home gave her the freedom to dream big and the assurance that she was always supported.
Like many women professionals, she has navigated expectations related to home, career, and motherhood. Her husband has been an equal partner in her journey, offering unwavering encouragement and sharing responsibilities with understanding and respect. His belief in her vision and his constant support have played an essential role in helping her grow both personally and professionally.
Her greatest inspiration is her younger brother, whose resilience in overcoming visual impairment and building a distinguished path for himself remains a constant source of motivation, reminding her to stay determined and optimistic during challenging times.
Outside work, she enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, and listening to music.
Her message to aspiring professionals is simple: dream boldly and work consistently. Life brings ups and downs, but showing up every day with faith and perseverance makes all the difference. For Dr. Pooja, success lies in touching lives and spreading hope, one family at a time.
Bhavna Reddy, Renowned Artist
Bhavna Reddy comes from an engineering background but chose to pursue her true calling as a professional artist. Working across multiple mediums including acrylic, pencil, charcoal, and watercolours, she brings versatility and emotional depth to her work.
Creativity has been a part of her life since childhood. Her earliest memories of art are tied to her mother, who introduced her to drawing and sketching. She never formally trained in art through dedicated classes, but she eagerly looked forward to the weekly art periods in school. Those early moments quietly shaped what would later become her profession.
After completing her engineering degree, the turning point came during the Covid period. With more time to reflect and create, she immersed herself fully in painting and portrait work. What began as focused dedication soon transformed into a professional journey. She launched an Instagram page to showcase her work, gradually building an audience and taking on commissioned projects. Social media became both her gallery and her marketplace, allowing her art to reach a wider audience.
Now, she is preparing for the next chapter by planning to set up an art gallery featuring her personal collection. This body of work represents not only her technical growth but also her evolving artistic identity.
Bhavna draws inspiration from artists such as Salvador Dalí and René Magritte, whose surrealist styles have influenced her creative exploration. At the same time, she is actively working toward discovering her own niche within Indian art. With increasing cultural recognition and global interest, she believes Indian art is entering a significant phase of growth and has the potential to establish itself as a powerful presence in the international market.
Beyond art, Bhavna is also a certified yoga instructor and a certified nutrition coach. She conducts online sessions for a select group of students, integrating wellness and discipline into her daily life. This balance between creativity and mindful living strengthens her focus and artistic expression.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals is rooted in patience and belief. If you genuinely believe in your skills and passions, nurture them with consistency and discipline. Over time, dedication becomes visible. When parents and families witness real effort, growth, and seriousness, they are more likely to understand and support unconventional career paths.
Reneey M Parakh, Founder – Cotton Candy Castle
Reneey M Parakh is the founder of Cotton Candy Castle, a boutique live experience brand that creates handcrafted, gourmet flavored cotton candy at parties, birthdays, corporate events, and weddings.
Her journey began with something deeply personal. When her son developed bronchitis, she became highly conscious about the ingredients in the treats he consumed. Cotton candy, which she had always associated with joy and nostalgia, suddenly felt like something that needed reinvention. At his birthday celebration years ago, she saw how a simple spinning cloud of sugar could light up an entire room. That moment sparked a powerful idea: to elevate a childhood favorite into a premium, natural, safer experiential brand. Cotton Candy Castle was born out of that desire to combine joy, creativity, and innovation with cleaner ingredients and magical presentation.
The business started with one small machine, a few flavors, and unwavering belief. What followed were late nights, burnt sugar disasters, repeated trial and error, and countless learnings. But there were also smiles, laughter, and the satisfaction of creating unforgettable experiences. From intimate birthday parties to large scale weddings and celebrity events, the brand grew organically through word of mouth, quality, and consistency. Over time, the concept expanded beyond cotton candy into millet waffles, flavored popcorn, themed carts, live spinning counters, and fully customized party concepts.
Reneey draws inspiration from women who run homes like chief executive officers without recognition or titles. Their quiet resilience motivates her. As a woman entrepreneur in the events industry, she has faced the challenge of not being taken seriously. Suppliers often assumed it was a hobby, and negotiating with logistical teams was not always easy. Balancing motherhood, marriage, home responsibilities, and business carried its own invisible emotional load. Each challenge strengthened her resolve.
Beyond her business, she is passionate about fashion, styling, family experiences, and community welfare initiatives.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple and honest: start small, start messy, just start. Success does not always look glamorous. Sometimes it looks like failed batches, tired eyes, and showing up again the next morning.
For Reneey, Cotton Candy Castle is more than a brand. It is proof that passion can find you at any stage of life. If her story inspires even one woman to take her first step, she considers that true success.
