reporterOn the occasion of Women’s Day, we honour ten exceptional Indian women leaders whose vision, courage, and relentless pursuit of excellence are shaping the nation’s present and future.
Across diverse fields and industries, these trailblazers have broken barriers, challenged conventions, and redefined what leadership truly means. Their journeys are not just stories of success, but powerful testaments to resilience, purpose, and the transformative impact of women who lead with conviction.
Revati Bhamare, Founder – Revati Nyaan Foundation
Revati Bhamare is a doctor by qualification and the founder of the Revati Nyaan Foundation, a grassroots non profit dedicated to supporting children from low income families through education and exposure.
Born and brought up in Pune, she witnessed the city transform from a quiet university town into a major IT and industrial hub. She completed her schooling at St Anne’s High School, pursued higher education at Fergusson College, and then graduated from BJ Medical College. After working for ten years in Nashik, she returned to Pune in 2010.
The turning point in her journey came during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2021. With schools shut and education shifting online, she realized that many children from government funded schools had little to no access to technology. Most depended on a shared mobile phone that became available only late at night after their parents returned from work. Their academic progress suffered deeply. Seeing this gap, she began teaching English to five children at her home. Word spread, and the number steadily grew. Today, more than 50 students attend classes daily.
The Revati Nyaan Foundation supplements government school curricula by teaching English, mathematics, and science. It also provides computer literacy training and prepares students for the Maharashtra State Certificate in Information Technology. Classes and workshops are conducted from her own home.
Beyond academics, the foundation organizes robotics workshops, art and craft sessions, festival celebrations, birthdays, field trips to places like the NDA, visits to restaurants, exhibitions, and cricket matches. Donation drives for school supplies are held regularly. Revati also visits students’ homes, building trust and emotional bonds while gaining deeper insight into their lives.
The foundation emphasizes practical computer skills such as MS Office, Tally, and typing, recognizing that not all students may pursue higher professional courses. These skills provide employability if circumstances force early entry into the workforce.
Among many success stories, Datta stands out. After losing his father, he joined the foundation with no knowledge of English or computers. With guidance and confidence building, he scored 88 out of 100 in English in his SSC exams and gained admission to Elphinstone College, Mumbai. Former students Suraj and Karan are now pursuing commerce and engineering, crediting their MSCIT certification for giving them an academic edge.
The biggest challenge, according to Revati, is keeping students engaged. She addresses this by making learning interactive and blending academics with enjoyable activities.
Students from grades 4 to 10 are welcome, and even women working as househelp have attended computer classes. Through the Revati Nyaan Foundation, Revati Bhamare continues to bridge gaps in education and create opportunities where they are needed most.
Monica Malik, Clinical Nutritionist and Nutrition Coach
Monica Malik is a Clinical Nutritionist and Nutrition Coach whose work reflects decades of dedication to science based, compassionate healing.
She began her professional journey as a Lecturer in Foods and Nutrition in Government Colleges. Teaching graduate and postgraduate students shaped her perspective deeply. Their curiosity, especially when trying to understand patients’ symptoms, diagnoses, and blood reports with clarity, motivated her to look beyond textbooks. She believed nutrition should not remain theoretical. It must bridge the gap between the latest research and practical, personalized dietary strategies. This belief eventually led her to establish her own clinic, where she transforms medical insights into structured, individualized healing plans.
Her journey has been driven by continuous learning. Staying updated with advancements in health and nutrition remains central to her practice. Over the years, she has witnessed clients recover from gut imbalances, skin disorders, thyroid issues, diabetes, and complex therapeutic conditions. Watching these transformations brings her deep fulfillment. What began as academic engagement evolved into hands on healing supported by teamwork, shared growth, and long term commitment.
Her inspiration comes from her students. Their eagerness to learn encouraged her to continue expanding her knowledge and ultimately begin private practice after superannuation. Transitioning from a long teaching career into entrepreneurship post retirement was not easy. However, she believes growth has no age limit. That belief led to the birth of NUTRITION COACH under her name, Monica Malik, Clinical Nutritionist. She considers being a woman her greatest strength, not a limitation, crediting it for her resilience, empathy, and perseverance.
Beyond clinical practice, she actively engages in social service, delivering lectures and workshops across educational institutions, NGOs, and corporate organizations. She also promotes preservative free fermented foods such as kanji, millet batter, mukhvaas, and high protein ladoos to encourage natural nourishment without artificial additives.
Her message is simple yet powerful: it is never too late to begin. Courage, consistency, empathy, and belief in oneself can build something meaningful at any stage of life.
For Monica Malik, true success is collective. Sustainable growth comes from aligned teams, shared vision, trust, and commitment. Success is not built alone; it is built together.
Vaishali Sunil Karad, Founder – Paashh
Vaishali Sunil Karad is the founder of Paashh, a conscious living concept that blends sustainable fashion, mindful nourishment, and holistic well being within one thoughtfully curated space. More than a brand, Paashh reflects a philosophy that values awareness over impulse, intention over urgency, and harmony with nature over excess.
Her entrepreneurial journey emerged not from aggressive ambition but from personal transformation. As a committed marathon runner and wellness enthusiast, Vaishali gradually realized that well being extends beyond exercise or diet. It is shaped by everyday choices. The clothes we wear, the food we consume, and the pace at which we live all influence how we feel. This understanding became the foundation of Paashh. She envisioned a space where conscious choices replace convenience and where slowing down is seen as strength rather than weakness.
Vaishali built Paashh with patience and intention. What began in Pune later expanded to Mumbai through deliberate, value driven growth rather than rapid scaling. She traveled across India to build direct relationships with artisans, weavers, and farmers. These collaborations are grounded in mutual respect and ethical sourcing. Every product within Paashh reflects traceability, craftsmanship, and integrity. Instead of following short lived trends, the brand focuses on timeless design and long lasting partnerships.
Inspired by the pace of modern life, Vaishali recognized a growing need for spaces that allow people to reconnect with their roots and restore balance. Her leadership reflects this belief. Calm, composed, and intentional, she demonstrates that meaningful impact can be created without noise or urgency.
Extending this vision further, Vaishali conceptualized SIJA, an initiative envisioned as a natural extension of the Paashh philosophy in Pune. Designed as a community led summer showcase hosted at Paashh, SIJA brings together like minded creators, designers, artisans, and wellness driven brands under one roof. It provides a platform for eco conscious, organic, and thoughtfully crafted brands to present their work while connecting with an audience that values mindful living. Through SIJA, Vaishali hopes to nurture Pune as a space where purpose driven brands can collaborate, grow together, and celebrate shared values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and conscious design.
Beyond her work, Vaishali practices the same lifestyle she promotes. Running, yoga, mindful eating, and conscious dressing form part of her daily routine. She also finds inspiration through travel, cultural exploration, and meaningful conversations that deepen awareness.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple yet powerful. Grow in alignment with your own rhythm. Allow depth to guide expansion and prioritize substance before scale. For Vaishali, success is not measured by speed or visibility. It lies in quiet fulfillment, revived traditions, and creating spaces where people feel more centered, connected, and at peace.
Dr. Amita Arora, Founder of Ace Homoeopathy Multispeciality Clinic
Dr. Amita Arora is the Founder of Ace Homoeopathy Multispeciality Clinic and a dedicated practitioner with more than 23 years of experience in the field of homoeopathy. Through her clinics and online consultations, she has treated over 80,000 patients suffering from chronic ailments, focusing on gentle, safe, and effective healing methods that aim to improve long term health and quality of life.
Her journey into homoeopathy began with a deeply emotional experience during childhood. When her younger sister, only three years old, accidentally burned her hand on a Sunday, the family struggled to find a doctor willing to attend. Watching her sister suffer left a lasting impact on young Amita, and she made a promise to herself that one day she would become a doctor who would always be available for patients, even on difficult days.
Another turning point came during her school years when she suffered from acute asthma. The side effects of conventional medicines led to weight gain, hormonal imbalance, and premature greying of her hair. These physical and emotional challenges pushed her to search for a safer and more holistic form of healing. With the support of her parents, she decided to pursue homoeopathy, gaining admission to a college in Pune and later training under the mentorship of Dr. Bakshi at a reputed chain of allergy clinics. After eight years of intensive learning and practice, she established Ace Homoeopathy Multispeciality Clinic in Gurgaon.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Arora believes she has been guided by constant learning and growth. She has attended numerous seminars and conferences and continues to study homoeopathic literature to deepen her clinical expertise. She also serves as the Co Founder Secretary of the International Homoeopathic Foundation, contributing to the promotion and development of homoeopathy globally. Her larger mission is to build healthier families by spreading awareness about gentle healing methods and encouraging preventive healthcare.
Her greatest inspiration comes from her family. Her father’s resilience and never give up attitude shaped her determination, while her mentor Dr. Bakshi taught her the ethics of medical practice, empathy for patients, and loyalty to the profession. Her mother, who raised four daughters with strength and patience, remains the pillar of her life, teaching her the value of dignity and perseverance.
Outside her profession, Dr. Arora enjoys the simple joys of life. She practices yoga, listens to music, watches Bollywood movies and comedy shows, and cherishes time with her friends and family. Her life mantra is simple: work hard, stay healthy, keep an aim in life, and live with positivity and gratitude.
Her advice to aspiring professionals is to remain active, creative, and courageous in pursuing new ideas. Success has no shortcuts and is built through hard work, integrity, and empathy. While professional achievements matter, she believes true success also lies in supporting others, staying connected to one’s roots, and valuing family relationships.
Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Arora also remembers being bullied as a child for her short height. At times it affected her confidence, but the unwavering support of her parents, sisters, and friends helped her rise above those judgments. Today she feels grateful for the people who accepted her for who she truly is. With loving family, dedicated patients, and a committed team, she believes life has given her far more reasons for gratitude than for complaint.
Dr. Astha Kaushal (Dubey), Gynecologist, obstetrician, and laparoscopic surgeon
Dr. Astha Kaushal (Dubey) is a gynecologist, obstetrician, and laparoscopic surgeon, and the founder of Vivitsa Clinic, a multidisciplinary center dedicated to compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care for women. Her work combines clinical precision with empathy, creating a space where women feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Her journey into gynecology began with a deep desire to support women through some of the most transformative phases of their lives. During medical training, she recognized that women’s health is often surrounded by silence, stigma, and misinformation. She felt compelled to change that narrative. At the same time, she developed a strong interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, drawn to its ability to reduce pain, minimize scarring, shorten hospital stays, and help women return to their daily lives sooner.
After completing her post-graduation in obstetrics and gynecology, she chose to refine her expertise in laparoscopy, a field traditionally perceived as demanding and male dominated. She was advised to choose easier career paths such as obstetrics alone or IVF. However, her determination and commitment to surgical excellence guided her forward. Today, she performs advanced minimally invasive procedures that prioritize faster recovery and improved patient outcomes.
Alongside her surgical practice, Dr. Kaushal built Vivitsa Clinic as a safe and respectful environment for comprehensive women’s care. She also leverages digital platforms to educate women on topics such as PCOS, infertility, painless delivery, menstrual health, and preventive care, simplifying medical information and encouraging informed decision-making.
Her patients remain her greatest inspiration, their resilience reinforcing her purpose each day. As a woman surgeon, she faced skepticism about handling complex procedures and often had to prove her competence repeatedly. Balancing demanding surgical hours with societal expectations was challenging, yet these experiences strengthened her resilience.
Beyond clinical practice, she mentors young doctors, especially women aspiring to surgical specialties. For her, success is measured not just in milestones but in impact. Every scar avoided, every woman who regains confidence, and every young doctor who chooses courage over comfort reflects the legacy she strives to build.
Piyali Toshniwal, Renowned Digital Creator
Piyali Toshniwal, based in Mumbai, has emerged as a powerful digital voice advocating self love, inclusivity, and fearless confidence. In a world often dominated by filters and unrealistic beauty standards, she chose authenticity over approval and built a platform that celebrates individuality and body positivity.
What began as sharing personal style and everyday moments on social media gradually evolved into something far more meaningful. Over the past seven years, Piyali has created a space where women feel seen, represented, and encouraged to embrace themselves without hesitation. She did not enter the digital world to conform to its standards but to challenge them and make space for diverse voices.
The journey, however, was not without challenges. In an industry that frequently glorifies a single body type, Piyali faced trolling and criticism for proudly embracing her curves. Instead of allowing negativity to silence her, she transformed it into motivation. Each comment strengthened her resolve to speak louder about self acceptance and confidence. Her mission became clear: to inspire women to love themselves exactly as they are, without apology or compromise.
Through her social media platforms @piyali_toshniwal and her travel and couple page @wanderingsouls_pj, Piyali has cultivated a digital identity rooted in authenticity. Her content blends style with sincerity, covering plus size fashion, body positivity advocacy, lifestyle storytelling, travel experiences, realistic fitness motivation, and relatable family moments. By balancing aspiration with honesty, she has built a community that connects with her not just for fashion inspiration but also for emotional empowerment.
Her work and influence have been recognized across several prominent platforms. Recently, she was awarded by Mugdha Godse and the All India Fashion Association as Plus Size Model & Body Positivity Influencer of the Year. She was also honored as the Best Plus Size Influencer at the AIFA Awards, receiving the award from fashion icon Mugdha Godse. Additionally, she received recognition as a Body Positivity Influencer at the Edu Connect Awards, highlighting her impact beyond fashion and into mindset transformation. She has also been acknowledged by Bollywood personalities such as Mahima Chaudhry and Ameesha Patel for her contribution to digital empowerment and representation.
For Piyali, fashion is not about size but self expression, and confidence is not about validation but self acceptance. She continues to attend brand launches, celebrity gatherings, and high profile events across Mumbai as a respected digital personality shaping conversations around inclusivity.
More than an influencer, Piyali Toshniwal represents a movement. By choosing authenticity and vulnerability, she has built a safe space where women feel empowered to embrace their identity, their body, and their voice. And for her, this journey of representation and empowerment is only just beginning.
Dr. Ankita Chaudhari, Consulting Pathologist
Dr. Ankita Chaudhari is a consulting Pathologist based in Nashik, Maharashtra, with over five years of professional experience and a strong academic foundation. Alongside her medical career, she is a devoted mother to her son, Arjun, a role that has profoundly shaped both her personal and creative journey.
Her path into content creation began in 2022 after Arjun was born. What started as a simple idea to create a digital timeline for her son gradually evolved into a meaningful creative outlet. While continuing her responsibilities as a consultant and Lab Director at one of India’s prestigious laboratories, she felt a strong pull toward exploring her creative side. Content creation became a way to document motherhood honestly and preserve precious memories, while also connecting with other women navigating similar experiences.
Over time, her videos transformed from casual posts into heartfelt video logs that reflect the raw and unfiltered reality of motherhood. She consciously chose to highlight that not every day is picture perfect. There are difficult days, emotional lows, and moments of self-doubt that often remain hidden behind curated social media feeds. Through her storytelling, she emphasizes the importance of self-compassion, reminding mothers to extend the same grace to themselves that they so freely give to others.
Her inspiration comes from hardworking mothers everywhere, whether homemakers or professionals. As a new toddler mom, she admits she once believed she could manage everything flawlessly. When plans fell apart and mom guilt set in, she questioned herself deeply. Over time, she realized that motherhood has no manual and no perfect script. Watching her son look at her with unconditional love helped her understand that she was already enough. Motherhood taught her to embrace imperfections and to be kinder to herself.
Beyond medicine and content creation, she enjoys preserving authentic moments of motherhood while also celebrating femininity. She believes that behind every tired mother is the same vibrant woman she has always been.
Her message is clear. You do not have to lose yourself while stepping into new roles. There is no timeline for bouncing back. Be a lifelong learner, protect your peace, and honor your feminine strength. For her, success lies in authenticity, consistency, and meaningful connections built through honesty and integrity.

Bhawna Chauhan, Teacher & mom blogger
Bhawna Chauhan is a teacher, mom blogger, and digital content creator who blends education with real life storytelling. Through relatable, informative, and engaging content, she shares insights on motherhood, parenting, education, and the everyday moments that shape family life.
Teaching has always been her foundation and first passion. However, motherhood added a new dimension to her identity and purpose. Experiencing the challenges, learning curves, and small yet powerful joys of parenting inspired her to share authentic stories. What began as a natural extension of her lived experiences gradually evolved into a consistent content creation journey alongside her teaching career.
Her path has been one of constant learning and adaptation. From managing classrooms to managing content calendars, from lesson planning to creating reels, each stage has required growth and flexibility. She started with simple ideas, remained consistent, and slowly built a voice that resonated with her audience. Balancing professional responsibilities, content creation, and motherhood has not been easy, but it has been deeply rewarding.
Bhawna draws inspiration from women who continue to pursue their dreams while carrying responsibilities, especially mothers who refuse to give up on themselves. Like many women, she has faced challenges such as time constraints, self doubt, and societal expectations. There have been moments of exhaustion and guilt, yet choosing to move forward despite those feelings strengthened her resilience.
Beyond her professional work, she prioritizes continuous learning, mindful parenting, and personal growth. She enjoys observing everyday life and transforming simple, ordinary moments into meaningful and engaging content.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals is practical and encouraging. Start where you are, with what you have. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Consistency matters more than perfection. Trust your voice, stay patient with your growth, and allow yourself to evolve.
For Bhawna, success is not defined by numbers alone. It is measured by impact, authenticity, and steady growth. If her journey inspires even one person to believe in themselves, she considers that a true achievement.
