On the occasion of World Health Day, we celebrate ten visionary doctors whose unwavering commitment, compassion, and innovation are redefining the very essence of healthcare. Beyond treating illness, these trailblazers are shaping a future where medicine is more accessible, ethical, and patient-centric.
Through groundbreaking work, community impact, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence, they stand as beacons of hope—proving that true healing begins with purpose, leadership, and a deep sense of humanity.
Dr. Aditi P. Salvi, Founder – Dr. Aditi’s Paediatric Homeopathy

Dr. Aditi P. Salvi is the Founder of Dr. Aditi’s Paediatric Homeopathy, with over 20 years of experience as a Homeopathic Paediatrician. With established clinics in Kandivali (Mumbai) and Thane, she has built a trusted practice that today extends not only across India but also globally.
For Dr. Salvi, becoming a doctor was not a choice—it was a childhood dream. She pursued her passion with clarity and dedication, completing her B.H.M.S. followed by an M.D. (Hom.) in Paediatrics. Her natural love for children made paediatrics an obvious calling, and today she continues to live that dream through her work.
Starting her clinic over two decades ago as the first doctor in her family, she built her practice entirely on her own. Her journey, however, was far from linear. After marriage, frequent relocations across cities—from Pune to Gurgaon, Chembur to Indore—brought constant change and uncertainty. Yet, her commitment never wavered. She continued traveling back to Mumbai regularly to serve her patients, and in return, her patients stood by her with unwavering trust and loyalty.
Over the years, her practice has grown into a comprehensive paediatric homeopathy platform, treating a wide spectrum of conditions—from common childhood illnesses like colds, coughs, and digestive issues to chronic conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, behavioural disorders, autism spectrum conditions, migraines, and PCOS in young girls. Her approach combines clinical expertise with deep empathy, making her a dependable support system for both children and parents.
Her inspiration lies in people who work hard with sincerity and purpose. She believes in constantly evolving and striving to do better than yesterday.
As a woman, she acknowledges the challenges of balancing personal milestones like marriage, motherhood, and career breaks. However, she strongly believes that determination and love for one’s work can overcome any obstacle.
Beyond her profession, she finds joy in reading, art, travel, and most importantly, spending time with her daughter—embracing motherhood as one of her most cherished roles.
Her message to aspiring professionals is grounded and powerful: never shy away from hard work. Persistence, patience, and humility are the true pillars of success. Stay kind, stay rooted, and keep moving forward.
Dr. Salvi describes her journey as one of constant rebuilding—never a straight line, but always progressing. Today, she takes pride in how far she has come, while remaining deeply committed to the path ahead. For her, this is not just a career—it is a lifelong purpose, and the journey is still unfolding.
Dr. Daisy Daruwala is a Dental Surgeon and Oral Health Educator

Dr. Daisy Daruwala is a Dental Surgeon and Oral Health Educator dedicated to improving oral health and restoring confident smiles. Her work spans general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, laser dentistry, and smile makeovers. Alongside her clinical practice, she actively spreads awareness about preventive oral health through her social media platforms under @dr.daisysays, using simple and educational content to make dental care accessible to a wider audience. She has also recently begun creating AI-based educational videos to further expand the reach of healthcare awareness.
Her journey into dentistry was driven by a childhood dream of becoming a doctor and helping people live healthier lives. Dentistry stood out to her as a unique blend of science, precision, and artistry, where she could not only treat health concerns but also restore confidence through smiles.
She began her professional journey in Mumbai, gaining diverse clinical exposure by working with multiple dentists and specialists. Despite initial challenges, these years played a crucial role in shaping her expertise. During her academic years, she was part of a team recognised by the Intercontinental Book of Records and the Limca Book of Records (2019) for organising a large-scale awareness and screening program on carbon monoxide poisoning in smokers.
Over time, she gained experience working with a leading celebrity dentist in India and was also part of the smile makeover team for Mrs. India Universe contestants. She later served as a Dental Surgeon at Kiran multi super speciality Hospital, Gujarat.
During COVID time when she was serving in Mumbai’s high impacted areas, her dedication was recognised in the media.
Dr. Daisy Daruwala has treated a wide spectrum of patients—from celebrities and public figures to underprivileged individuals—strongly believing that every patient deserves equal care and attention. She is also actively involved with a government-based trust, providing dental treatment to those in need.
Her inspiration comes from her parents, her faith, and the resilience she observed in everyday working women. Her message to aspiring professionals is to stay committed to learning, serve with compassion, and remember that true success lies in the impact created in people’s lives.
For her, the greatest reward is simple—seeing patients heal, regain comfort, and smile with confidence.
Dr. Rakesh Manohar, Pediatric Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist

Dr. Rakesh Manohar is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist dedicated to treating digestive and liver disorders in children. His work focuses on providing specialized care to young patients, ensuring early diagnosis and effective management of complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
Interestingly, his entry into medicine was almost accidental, but his decision to pursue pediatrics was driven by pure passion. The opportunity to treat children and make a meaningful difference at an early stage of life deeply resonated with him. His interest gradually evolved into Pediatric Gastroenterology—a field he genuinely enjoyed and found intellectually fulfilling. Recognizing the significant gap in specialized care for pediatric GI and liver diseases in India further strengthened his commitment to this niche.
Practicing in a tier-2 city, Dr. Manohar stands among the few specialists offering advanced pediatric gastroenterology services in such settings. His work includes managing complex liver diseases and performing specialized procedures like endoscopies and colonoscopies for patients ranging from newborns to adolescents. Building this practice outside a metro has been both challenging and rewarding, as it brings critical, specialized care closer to families who would otherwise need to travel long distances.
He draws inspiration from his mentor, Dr. Julius Xavier Scott, and his teacher, Dr. Srinivas Sankaranarayanan, whose dedication and approach to patient care continue to guide his practice.
One of the key challenges he has faced is spreading awareness. Many parents are unaware that children can suffer from serious gastrointestinal and liver conditions requiring specialized interventions. Bridging this awareness gap and building trust in pediatric procedures has been an ongoing effort.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Manohar actively creates educational content to raise awareness about pediatric GI health, liver diseases, and nutrition. He is also a fitness enthusiast, believing that maintaining physical and mental well-being is essential in a demanding profession like medicine.
His message to aspiring doctors is grounded and clear: medicine demands dedication, passion, and a strong sense of responsibility. Above all, the patient must always come first.
For Dr. Manohar, success is not about immediate recognition. It lies in creating a path where none existed—one that ultimately benefits not just individual patients, but entire communities.
Dr. Deepa Aggarwal, Senior Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist

Dr. Deepa Aggarwal is a Senior Consultant Pediatrician and Neonatologist at Home Hospital, Gurgaon, where she also heads the Department of Pediatrics. With extensive experience in newborn care, pediatric emergencies, and child healthcare, her work focuses on delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to children while actively empowering parents through education.
Born into a middle class family with no medical background, Dr. Aggarwal’s journey into medicine was driven by academic excellence and determination. A defining phase of her life came during her early MBBS years when her mother was diagnosed with tubercular meningitis and remained bedridden for several years. Balancing medical education while witnessing her mother’s prolonged illness shaped her perspective on healthcare, empathy, and the importance of emotional support for families.
This experience led her to choose pediatrics, a field where she could combine clinical care with compassion and communication. For her, treating children is deeply fulfilling, not just because of their recovery, but because of the trust and bond built with both the child and their parents.
Her greatest inspiration has been her parents. While her mother’s illness instilled empathy, her father’s resilience and unwavering support during that time left a lasting impact on her life and values.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Aggarwal is deeply committed to parent education. She regularly guides families on breastfeeding, nutrition, developmental milestones, and childhood illnesses, believing that informed parents are key to raising healthy children.
Despite the challenges of balancing a demanding medical career with personal responsibilities, she views these experiences as opportunities for growth and resilience.
Her message to aspiring professionals is to follow their passion with patience and dedication, and to remember that true success lies not just in achievements but in the positive impact one creates.
For Dr. Aggarwal, success is simple yet meaningful: if a child heals, a parent feels reassured, and a family leaves more confident and informed, that itself is the greatest reward of her profession.
Dr. Anirban Ghosh, Renowned Plastic & Aesthetic Surgeon

Dr. Aparajita Lamba, Dermatologist

Dr. Aparajita Lamba is a dermatologist, content creator, and a mother who combines medical expertise with empathy to help people feel confident in their own skin. Her work focuses not only on treating skin conditions but also on addressing the emotional and psychological impact they can have on individuals.
Her journey into dermatology began with a deeply personal experience. During medical college, she struggled with severe acne that significantly affected her confidence and mental well-being. At that time, she had initially planned to pursue the civil services and prepare for the UPSC examination. However, experiencing firsthand how strongly skin conditions can influence self-esteem and quality of life led her to reconsider her path. She realised dermatology was a field where she could combine science with compassion and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Even during her student years, despite performing well academically, her acne often overshadowed her achievements and affected her confidence in social situations. That experience shaped the way she practices medicine today. For Dr. Lamba, dermatology is not just about treating skin concerns; it is about understanding the human side behind them. Her approach to patient care is therefore both clinical and compassionate, recognising that skin conditions often carry emotional and psychological weight.
Ironically, entering a field centred around skin health while personally dealing with acne was initially discouraging. Over time, however, she realised that what once felt like a disadvantage had become one of her greatest strengths. It allowed her to truly understand her patients’ struggles and connect with them on a deeper level. Her training at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions, further strengthened her expertise and credibility.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Lamba is also a content creator who uses digital platforms to share accurate, evidence-based information about skincare and wellness. She believes in cutting through misinformation and helping people make informed decisions about their health.
Health and fitness are also central to her lifestyle. Living with PCOS, she follows a disciplined dairy-free and refined sugar-free diet and stays active through Pilates, yoga, and running. Above all, she values her role as a mother and treasures the time spent with her baby boy.
Her message to aspiring professionals and entrepreneurs is simple yet powerful: dream boldly and believe deeply in your vision. Passion builds resilience, and genuine care for what you create makes it difficult for obstacles or criticism to stop you. For Dr. Lamba, lasting success comes from delivering real results and creating genuine value in people’s lives.
Dr. Arnav Hemant Tongaonkar, Medical Oncologist and Hemato Oncologist

Dr. Arnav Hemant Tongaonkar is a Medical Oncologist and Hemato Oncologist dedicated to guiding patients through one of the most challenging journeys of their lives with compassion, clarity, and hope. He currently practices as a consultant with MOC Mumbai at the Vile Parle and Mahim centres. In addition, he serves as an honorary consultant at Surya Hospital Santacruz, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Guru Nanak Hospital, and Raheja Hospital, extending his expertise across multiple institutions.
Dr. Tongaonkar completed his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, one of the most respected medical institutions in India. He further specialized with a DM in Medical Oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, a premier cancer care and research centre. His academic journey also includes the European Certification in Medical Oncology, membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), and a Certification in Immuno Oncology from Harvard Medical School.
Throughout his medical training, he was drawn to a field that demanded deep patient connection and communication. Oncology offered exactly that. For Dr. Tongaonkar, cancer care is not only about treatment but about standing beside patients and their families during a difficult and uncertain phase of life. The goal is not only medical care but also making the journey more comfortable and hopeful.
A strong influence in his life has been his father, Dr. Hemant B. Tongaonkar, one of India’s senior most surgical oncologists. Growing up, Dr. Arnav witnessed firsthand the powerful bond his father formed with patients and their families, a connection that continues regardless of treatment outcomes. This early exposure shaped his understanding of empathy and patient centered care.
Dr. Tongaonkar has contributed extensively to the academic field as well, with over 30 scientific publications in international peer reviewed journals. He is frequently invited as faculty at national and international conferences and actively participates in patient advocacy and communication forums, helping spread awareness and support for cancer patients.
Like many doctors, his journey has required resilience. Medical training involves demanding examinations, long residency hours often exceeding 48 hour shifts, and intense emotional challenges. During the COVID 19 pandemic, he served as a frontline doctor at both KEM Hospital and Tata Memorial Hospital. While many days were filled with uncertainty, moments when patients recovered became powerful reminders of why the profession matters. He remains deeply grateful to his parents and his wife for their unwavering support during these demanding and challenging phases of his journey.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Tongaonkar expresses his creativity through several artistic pursuits. He is a blogger, poet, photographer, painter, and violinist, and also supports his wife Shweta in her architecture practice, SAT Design Studio.
He believes aspiring doctors should carefully choose a medical branch that resonates deeply with them. When one’s work is aligned with the heart, the inevitable challenges of the profession become easier to navigate.
For Dr. Tongaonkar, his journey is deeply rooted in spiritual guidance. He attributes much of his strength and success to the teachings and blessings of Sadguru Aniruddha Bapu (Dr. Aniruddha D. Joshi), whose path of spirituality continues to guide him in both life and service.
Dr. Anukriti Singh, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr. Anukriti Singh is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist driven by a deep sense of empathy and purpose toward women’s health. Her work is centered around empowering women with informed choices, improving access to care, and supporting them through some of the most vulnerable and transformative phases of their lives.
Her decision to enter this field came from witnessing the gaps in awareness and inequitable access to healthcare for women. She was deeply moved by the need to restore agency to women when it comes to their reproductive health and overall well-being. The ability to relieve pain, support patients emotionally, and bring new life into the world made this path feel like a true calling.
Her journey has been one of continuous learning, both professionally and personally. Obstetrics and gynaecology expose a doctor to a wide spectrum of experiences, from routine antenatal care to intense, high-pressure emergencies. The long hours, unpredictable schedules, and emotional weight of the profession often test resilience. There are days when the experiences stay with her even after leaving the hospital. Yet, the meaning and impact of her work make every challenge worthwhile. Every patient interaction, whether small or significant, is rooted in honesty and purpose.
She draws inspiration from a combination of mentors, seniors, and patients who have shaped her perspective. Strong, compassionate women in medicine who balance multiple roles have particularly influenced her journey. As a woman in this demanding field, she acknowledges the challenges of managing professional responsibilities alongside personal life. The expectation to handle everything can be overwhelming, but over time, she has learned the importance of setting boundaries, seeking support, and growing at her own pace.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Singh embraces a vibrant and creative life. She enjoys movies, dancing, writing, reading, and engaging with art in all its forms. She also creates content online, using it as a creative outlet and a way to connect with people beyond the clinical setting. She believes strongly in maintaining balance and nurturing passions outside of work, especially in a profession where burnout is real.
Her message to aspiring professionals is both honest and empowering. Do not reduce your life to just your profession. Keep all parts of yourself alive. The journey is not linear, and there will be moments of doubt, but growth happens when you continue to show up, even on difficult days. Do not wait to feel fully ready, because readiness often comes through action

He later specialized in Hip and Knee Surgery from South Korea learning advanced technologies and techniques in Hip and Knee surgery including Robotic Knee replacement, Arthroscopy and sports medicine. He has managed a wide range of cases—from trauma and fractures to complex degenerative conditions affecting the hip, knee, and spine. His focus remains on providing the right treatment tailored to each patient, ensuring both clinical effectiveness and long-term well-being.
Beyond clinical practice, he is actively involved in patient education through digital platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. He simplifies complex medical concepts, enabling patients to better understand their conditions and make informed decisions. He believes that awareness and education are as important as treatment in modern healthcare.
His greatest inspiration comes from his family, whose values of dedication, resilience, honesty, and hard work continue to guide his journey. Among the challenges he acknowledges is balancing a demanding clinical workload with continuous learning, while also addressing the growing issue of misinformation in healthcare. Ensuring patients receive accurate, evidence-based guidance remains a constant priority.
His message to aspiring doctors is clear: medicine is not just a profession but a lifelong commitment to learning and service. Strong fundamentals, ethical practice, and clear communication are essential to building trust and long-term success.
For Dr. Pradeep Nair, success is not measured in numbers, but in impact. Every patient who walks pain-free, returns to daily life, or regains confidence defines the true meaning of his work. Their dedication is not only creating healthier smiles but also shaping the future of the country’s healthcare ecosystem.
In this special edition, Mumbai Uncensored celebrates ten exceptional dental professionals whose inspiring journeys exemplify excellence, leadership, and service. From pioneering cutting-edge procedures and mentoring the next generation of dentists to advancing research, community outreach, and patient education, these visionaries are making a lasting impact on the field of dentistry while setting new benchmarks for quality, ethics, and innovation across India.
Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi, Founder – Meraki Dental Studio

Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi is an aesthetic dentist, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Meraki Dental Studio in New Delhi. With a philosophy rooted in clinical excellence and personalized care, she has dedicated her career to helping people rediscover confidence through beautiful, healthy smiles.
Drawn to the unique blend of science, artistry, and human connection that dentistry offers, she found her calling in a profession that transforms not just oral health, but self-esteem and quality of life. Over the years, she has expanded her role beyond patient care, mentoring fellow dentists and contributing to the profession through lectures and educational programs.
Her journey has been one of courage and perseverance. Coming from a small city and moving to Delhi after marriage, she entered one of the country’s most competitive markets without the advantage of a medical background or established network. Beginning her career in a corporate dental chain before transitioning into private practice, she eventually took a leap of faith and founded Meraki Dental Studio in 2016.
The path was far from easy. Three clinic relocations, the uncertainty brought by two COVID lockdowns, and the challenges of building a brand from scratch tested her resilience. Yet, every obstacle strengthened her conviction and helped shape Meraki Dental Studio into one of India’s trusted destinations for aesthetic dentistry.
One of her greatest inspirations is the iconic artist Frida Kahlo, whose courage and authenticity taught her the power of turning adversity into strength. As a woman entrepreneur and mother of twins, balancing the demands of family and a growing practice often felt overwhelming. Those experiences, however, taught her adaptability, patience, and the importance of a strong support system.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Harleen is passionate about education and travel. She regularly conducts workshops and lectures in aesthetic dentistry and aligner therapy, finding immense fulfillment in sharing knowledge and helping young professionals grow.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple: stop waiting for the perfect moment. Start with what you have, trust the process, and keep showing up consistently. Success, she believes, is not about perfection but persistence.
For Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi, the greatest reward lies not in accolades, but in seeing patients smile with confidence, empowering fellow dentists, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams with courage and conviction.

Her journey began in agency recruitment within the oil and gas sector, a field she entered without prior knowledge. Despite the steep learning curve, she quickly rose to become a top performer. That phase shaped her core belief: success is not about knowing everything at the start, but about learning faster than anyone else.
Over time, her role evolved beyond recruitment. She began training teams, building systems, and eventually designing AI-led frameworks to help recruiters stay relevant in a rapidly changing landscape. Working across diverse markets like India, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, she developed a strong ability to navigate cultural nuances and connect insights across regions.

Swheta Mutreja Aggarwal, Founder – @kookie_cake_crumble

Swheta Mutreja Aggarwal is a baker and chef whose journey is deeply rooted in passion, memory, and purpose. As the founder of @kookie_cake_crumble, she has transformed her love for baking into a growing brand built on authenticity, creativity, and continuous learning.
Her inspiration comes from her father, who played a defining role in shaping her relationship with food. Growing up, the kitchen was her happiest space. Watching her father cook fresh meals for the family every evening instilled in her not just skills, but a deep emotional connection with cooking. What began as admiration slowly evolved into a calling.
Although she completed a diploma from Sophia’s School of Polytechnic nearly two decades ago, she did not initially pursue baking professionally. It was only just before the lockdown that she chose to return to her passion, enrolling at the School for European Pastry to refine her skills through an eggless baking course. The lockdown, while challenging for many, became a turning point for her—allowing her brand to take shape and grow steadily.
Swheta strongly believes in lifelong learning. Her culinary journey has taken her across the world, learning authentic cuisines from their roots—Sri Lankan cuisine from Bentota and Colombo, Thai from Pattaya, Italian from Venice, ramen from Sydney, and regional Indian cuisines from Srinagar and Pahalgam. Each experience has added depth and diversity to her craft.
Today, alongside running her baking venture, she is also a food consultant, working with catering businesses and helping brands grow. Her professional journey is further strengthened by nearly three decades of experience in PR and marketing, which has enabled her to understand branding and business growth from a strategic perspective.
Her journey, however, has not been without challenges. As a woman, she has often faced discouragement and limiting beliefs—being told to remain confined to working from home or doubted for her ability to build something larger. There were moments of self-doubt, but she chose to rise above them, driven by her father’s belief in her and her own determination to fulfil that dream.
Beyond her professional life, she is a devoted mother to two children and shares her home with a beloved pet. She has also been actively involved in school initiatives as part of the PTA, reflecting her commitment beyond her career.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple and heartfelt: pursue what you truly love, give it your full dedication, and trust the process.
Interestingly, her entrepreneurial spirit began early at just 16, she was already supplying cookies to Akbarallys and later to Rashmi Uday Singh’s store at Crossroads, marking the beginning of a journey that would come full circle years later.
Meera Chalke, Wedding Photographer, Founder – Picture It by Meera

Meera Chalke is a wedding photographer and the founder of Picture It by Meera, a Mumbai based wedding photography brand known for capturing honest emotions and timeless stories through a deeply personal lens. Over the last decade, she has documented weddings across India as well as internationally in destinations such as the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, and Indonesia.
Her journey into photography began during her sister’s wedding in 2011, when she found herself drawn not just to the celebrations, but to the emotions quietly unfolding within them. Coming from a creative background with a B.Sc. in Animation and specialization in VFX, she naturally developed a strong sense of visual storytelling and artistic perspective.
In 2013, she co-founded a wedding photography company, where she learned the foundations of both photography and entrepreneurship. From handling clients to building systems and understanding the realities of running a business, those years became an important phase of growth. However, life took an unexpected turn after her separation in 2017. Instead of stepping away, she chose to rebuild herself and start again with clarity and resilience. That fresh beginning eventually became Picture It by Meera, a brand built entirely on courage, consistency, and self-belief.
Through years of dedication and genuine human connection, her work gradually evolved into a trusted name in the wedding industry. Beyond photography, Meera enjoys learning about entrepreneurship, mindful living, sustainability, and travelling. Observing people, cultures, and emotions continues to shape her creative process and storytelling style.
She believes one of the biggest strengths an entrepreneur can develop is the ability to solve problems with empathy and resourcefulness. According to her, skills can always be learned, but the ability to make life easier for others leaves a lasting impact.
For Meera, success is not just about building a business. It is about discovering strength through the process. What began as a career slowly became a journey of rebuilding herself, and in chasing her dreams, she ultimately found a stronger version of who she is.
Dr. Manjula Thakur, MD Dermatologist

Dr. Manjula Thakur is an MBBS doctor and MD Dermatologist currently practicing in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. Alongside her clinical practice, she actively conducts weekly health camps in the rural areas of Bastar, where access to healthcare services remains limited. Her approach to medicine is deeply rooted in compassion, with a strong belief in treating one patient at a time while making healthcare more accessible to underserved communities.
Coming from a middle class family, Dr. Thakur always dreamed of becoming a doctor. She is the first generation doctor in her family, driven by a desire to serve society and create meaningful impact through healthcare. In a family and community where girls often get married in their early twenties, her parents stood firmly by her dreams and supported her education and ambitions wholeheartedly. She believes she is where she is today because of their love, sacrifices, and unwavering encouragement.
Her academic journey reflects dedication and perseverance. She cracked NEET in 2013 and completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. Later, she successfully cleared NEET PG in 2022 and pursued her MD in Dermatology from Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur. Today, she serves as a Senior Resident at her alma mater, Government Medical College Jagdalpur, giving back to the same institution that shaped her journey.
Her greatest inspiration comes from her family and her fiancé, who is an ophthalmologist. Their sacrifices, values, support, and resilience continue to motivate her personally and professionally.
As a woman in healthcare, balancing academics, high patient loads, emotional pressure, and personal responsibilities has not always been easy. However, these experiences helped her grow into a stronger, more resilient clinician and gave her a deeper perspective on life and patient care.
Beyond her profession, Dr. Thakur enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle, travelling, playing badminton, and exploring new cuisines and places. She has also contributed academically by publishing research papers in international journals and delivering talks at national and state level conferences.
She believes that being a dermatologist in India comes with its own challenges, especially in educating patients against misinformation spread by unqualified practitioners and misleading social media trends. Through her work, she aims to create awareness and ensure patients receive ethical, evidence based treatment and guidance.
For Dr. Manjula Thakur, success is not defined by status or achievements alone. She believes true success lies in health, peace of mind, and the ability to make a positive difference in society. Treating patients and serving communities keeps her grounded, grateful, and deeply connected to her purpose.
