SRL Diagnostics launched the first ever non-invasive “stomach function test” for dyspepsia in India. Dyspepsia is ‘bad or poor digestion’ in simpler words. It commonly occurs among people seeking medical care from gastroenterologists or even among the general population. It is followed by symptoms like vomiting, nausea, abdominal discomfort and indigestion. The chances of these symptoms occurring in India are over 30.4%. SRL designed a gastro panel test that also measures structure and functional assessment of stomach mucosa. It provides valuable diagnostic insights on dyspepsia to practitioners. According to Dr. Anurag Bansal, Technical Director of SRL Labs, “It is designed in a way to give an overall picture of stomach function. To put it simply, this test helps differentiate between a healthy and a non-healthy stomach. It reliably detects gastritis and H.Pylori infection and also estimates an increased susceptibility for stomach cancer and peptic ulcer.”
The test is also reliable for a patient who is not suited for endoscopy and for patients above the age of 60 years.
