Following Ukraine ambassador Dr Igor’s appeal to India to talk to Russia to resolve the conflicts and end violence, PM Narendra Modi has spoken to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and asked him to cease the violence.

Late Thursday, the Modi Ji sought diplomatic ways of dialogue and negotiations. Russia was hours away from attacking the whole of Ukraine, the biggest invasion since World War II.

According to the statement given by PMO, Putin briefed Narendra Modi on the recent developments.

The statement said, “Prime Minister [Modi] reiterated his long-standing conviction that the differences between Russia and the NATO group can only be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue”.

Modi Ji also talked about the safety of Indian citizens staying in Ukraine. He added that the country prioritises their return.

Apparently, Modi Ji and Putin have agreed to continue the talk through their diplomatic teams.
