Did you also believe that eating pizza will help you gain weight? What if we tell you that you can eat pizza without guilt and you can still lose weight?

The majority of people believe in this myth that eating their favourite food, i.e., pizza, burger makes them fat and the moment they start thinking about their favourite food, they start feeling guilty. So, in that guilt, they stop eating their favourite food, and that act restricts their body from releasing endorphins.

Before we jump to our favourite food, let us understand what endorphins are. As per Google, “When you have your favourite dish or dessert, your brain produces happy hormones called endorphins“.

SO, WE CAN EAT PIZZA & BURGERS DAILY?

It may be YES or NO, but first, let us understand this whole concept:

Our brain understands that it’s pizza/ burger, but our body does not. The language of our body is different; it understands carbohydrates, fats, proteins, amino acids, vitamins and so on and then acts accordingly.

You may eat pizza, your favourite dessert or any of your favourite food, but you have to measure the quantity, and then you have to follow the input vs output principle.

Let’s take an example:

You are in the shredding phase, following a diet of 1800 calories and burning 2000 calories, here you are making a deficit of 200 calories. It will lead you to lose weight, but you have pizza cravings today. Here we have two choices:

  1. As you read above, you will not cheat and follow your regular diet, which may restrict your happy hormones (endorphins).
  2. You will eat pizza, but you will ensure that the overall calories will remain 1800, or you will be burning those extra calories you have consumed through pizza and following this will not make you fat.

That’s how our body thinks.

It is mandatory to measure every single food item you are consuming. And yes, carrying a weighing machine is not a practical solution but installing free calorie tracker applications is.

Also, eating pizza daily may not be the best choice for you because keeping calories on track is good, but it is more than this. Apart from calories, you also have to keep multiple things in mind, like how many calories you consume from protein and carbohydrates & fat, as they have their own assigned tasks to achieve within our body.

So, next time you crave to eat your favourite food item, don’t restrict yourself; find out a smart way of having it.
