Reporters were told by Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the chief minister of the state of Madhya Pradesh, that 12 more cheetahs are being transported from African nations as a part of the project.

Bharat received eight large cats in the month of September, and the remaining 12 arrived after some time. The newly arrived animals will soon be released into Kuno Palpur National Park (spread over 748 Square Kilometers) in Sheopur District  where there is little human activity, plenty of water, and a large number of herbivorous species, which will help them survive in their new habitat environment.

The introduction program, of which the 12 cheetahs were a part, has planned to introduce 50 additional animals in various parts of the nation over the next five years in order to increase space for faunal diversity and promote tourism.

Africa’s new cheetahs originated in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. Due to poaching and the destruction of their natural habitats, Asiatic animals were declared vanished in Bharat in 1952.
