Mumbai – The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has raised concerns over the illegal and unauthorised activities being carried out by a popular food chain in the city named Breadkraft. In a written letter to the company, the political party has highlighted several violations of fire safety norms and legalities.
According to the letter sent by the Maharashtra Navnirman Vyapari Sena, several restaurant and cloud kitchen owners have complained that Breadkraft is doing business in an unauthorised manner across a few of their outlets. The letter states that the outlet is serving food and beverages on the table, despite operating as a cloud kitchen, in a residential premises, which is unauthorised.
Moreover, the letter states that Breadkraft is serving food after midnight, up to 5 am, which is illegal, as the eatery is crossing the police deadlines as compared to other eateries which get shut on time. The MNS has also accused the eatery of not complying with the fire safety norms for the usage of gas cylinders, which is a serious offence as they dont have the necessary permissions.
The letter further notes that the eatery is not displaying its name board in Marathi language in front of the establishment, which can incur fines as per the law.
The concerns raised by the MNS have highlighted serious issues that could pose a threat to the safety and security of the residents. The MNS has requested the management of Breadkraft to immediately stop all such unauthorised and illegal activities, failing which they have warned to take legal action against the company.
The MNS has also urged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to take strict action against the eatery and ensure that all safety norms and legalities are complied with, to prevent any untoward incidents.
Breadkraft, which has been a popular eatery chain among the residents, has not yet responded to the allegations raised by the MNS. The residents, on the other hand, have welcomed the move by the MNS and have expressed their concerns over the safety of the neighbourhood.
