The temporary shutdown of Essel World was announced on the company’s website, but some internet users pointed out that the amusement park has been closed ever since the pandemic began, leading many to speculate that it has closed for good.

Some of the most well-known attractions at Essel World, located in Gorai on the outskirts of Mumbai, are the Shot-n-Drop, the Hoola Loop, and the Tunnel Twister. There are more than 50 different areas to explore at the amusement park, each with its own unique attractions and atmosphere. Water Kingdom, the water park, is also located within the park.

In addition to Water Kingdom and AppuGhar in Delhi, Essel World was one of the earliest amusement parks to open in India.

Social media users reacted to the news and remembered their experiences at Essel World.

Love for Essel World

The expression “Essel World mein rahunga main, ghar nahi jaunga main” is ingrained in the memories of most Indian children who grew up in the 1990s.

One person summed up the sentiments of practically everyone who heard or read about the news when they commented, “It was the original amusement park for us kids growing up in the 1980s and 1990s.”

Water parks are a well-liked location for leisure activities among people of all ages; however, for many adults, going to water parks brings back fond memories of their youth and occupies a unique place in their hearts.

Adults can be transported to a time when their carefree summer days were spent with friends and family by the excitement of going down a water slide, playing in the wave pool, and drifting around in the lazy pool.

Visiting a water park as an adult can be a way to reconnect with memories of prior summer vacations and recapture some of the joy of childhood.

The sounds of children laughing and the scent of sunscreen can conjure strong recollections of former summer holidays, and visiting a water park as an adult can trigger such emotions. These parks offer families a fun and exciting opportunity to build new memories and experiences together while also providing an enjoyable environment to do so.
