The 22-year-old Ahmedabad man’s legs are allegedly broken, and the Andheri police have detained two sisters and are searching for three to four more suspects. The victim had travelled to Mumbai after receiving a call from one of the accused ladies asking her to wed her there rather than on the street in Andheri East.The ladies, 23-year-old Jayshree Bairagi and her 29-year-old sister Ritu, are Andheri East locals, according to police sources. “Interrogating the sisters led to the discovery that Jayshree was intended to wed the victim, and their nuptials had been scheduled for January with the approval of each family.

She declined to be married to him, though, when her family ended their connection in February, according to an officer.A case was filed under different sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 120B and 326, based on the victim’s allegation. “We started our inquiries and detained the sisters. Another officer reported that they were “produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.” The other suspect is wanted by the police.

The victim, after making the appropriate arrangements for his wedding, arrived in Mumbai by train about five in the morning on April 23, according to the police. Jayshree met him at the station and drove him to the Hotel Atlas Plaza.The officer stated, “Ritu, Raju and other relatives were waiting at the spot and started assaulting him with bamboo sticks as soon as he arrived,” adding that they then fled the scene after beating him.
