Smita Ahuja represents a rare balance of style, intelligence, and substance. Moving seamlessly between strategic leadership and a vibrant personal life, she brings both instinct and precision to everything she does. As a talent strategist working across APAC, she plays a key role in shaping hiring ecosystems and integrating AI-driven frameworks into modern recruitment.

Her journey began in agency recruitment within the oil and gas sector, a field she entered without prior knowledge. Despite the steep learning curve, she quickly rose to become a top performer. That phase shaped her core belief: success is not about knowing everything at the start, but about learning faster than anyone else.

Over time, her role evolved beyond recruitment. She began training teams, building systems, and eventually designing AI-led frameworks to help recruiters stay relevant in a rapidly changing landscape. Working across diverse markets like India, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, she developed a strong ability to navigate cultural nuances and connect insights across regions.

Meera Chalke is a wedding photographer and the founder of Picture It by Meera, a Mumbai based wedding photography brand known for capturing honest emotions and timeless stories through a deeply personal lens. Over the last decade, she has documented weddings across India as well as internationally in destinations such as the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, and Indonesia.

Her journey into photography began during her sister’s wedding in 2011, when she found herself drawn not just to the celebrations, but to the emotions quietly unfolding within them. Coming from a creative background with a B.Sc. in Animation and specialization in VFX, she naturally developed a strong sense of visual storytelling and artistic perspective.

In 2013, she co-founded a wedding photography company, where she learned the foundations of both photography and entrepreneurship. From handling clients to building systems and understanding the realities of running a business, those years became an important phase of growth. However, life took an unexpected turn after her separation in 2017. Instead of stepping away, she chose to rebuild herself and start again with clarity and resilience. That fresh beginning eventually became Picture It by Meera, a brand built entirely on courage, consistency, and self-belief.

Through years of dedication and genuine human connection, her work gradually evolved into a trusted name in the wedding industry. Beyond photography, Meera enjoys learning about entrepreneurship, mindful living, sustainability, and travelling. Observing people, cultures, and emotions continues to shape her creative process and storytelling style.

She believes one of the biggest strengths an entrepreneur can develop is the ability to solve problems with empathy and resourcefulness. According to her, skills can always be learned, but the ability to make life easier for others leaves a lasting impact.

For Meera, success is not just about building a business. It is about discovering strength through the process. What began as a career slowly became a journey of rebuilding herself, and in chasing her dreams, she ultimately found a stronger version of who she is.

Every year on July 1, India observes National Doctors Day to honour the relentless dedication, compassion and contribution of doctors who continue to shape the nation’s healthcare system. From pioneering advanced treatments and transforming patient care to building trust during moments of crisis, doctors across the country have become symbols of hope and resilience.

In this special edition, National Doctors Day 2026: Success Stories of India’s Most Inspiring Doctors, we celebrate remarkable medical professionals whose journeys, innovations and commitment to healing continue to inspire millions and redefine the future of healthcare in India.

Dr. Saniya Bagade Mehta is a Dental Surgeon and oral healthcare professional committed to delivering ethical, patient-centered care. A fellowship graduate of the CCRP program conducted by the Indian Dental Association (Mumbai Head Office), she believes that dentistry is not just about treating teeth, but about building trust and making healthcare more compassionate and approachable.

Her journey into dentistry began with a fascination for healthcare and the desire to positively impact people’s lives. Drawn to the unique blend of science, precision, artistry, and human connection that dentistry offers, she gradually discovered that her true passion lay in caring for people beyond their clinical concerns.

As a first-generation dentist from Maharashtra, Dr. Mehta built her career through perseverance, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to her patients. Over the years, treating thousands of individuals taught her an invaluable lesson: patients often arrive carrying fear, anxiety, insecurities, and personal stories alongside their dental problems. This realization transformed her approach to dentistry, making empathy and communication as important as clinical excellence.

Her greatest inspiration has been her mother, a Vigilance Manager at The Oriental Insurance Company, whose resilience, integrity, and ability to balance multiple responsibilities shaped many of the values Dr. Mehta carries today. From her, she learned that success is not measured solely by achievements, but by authenticity, compassion, and the ability to remain grounded through life’s challenges.

As a woman, she has faced the challenge of balancing different identities and overcoming the expectation that women should confine themselves to a single path. Choosing not to limit herself, she embraced both her professional and creative pursuits with confidence.

Beyond dentistry, Dr. Mehta is a content creator, Marathi theatre actress, and a national-level finalist representing Maharashtra at the UMB Pageants. These experiences have enriched her perspective and strengthened her belief that healthcare professionals can pursue diverse passions while becoming more empathetic and relatable individuals.

Her message to aspiring professionals is simple: never underestimate the power of authenticity, integrity, and consistency. Success is not only about accomplishments, but about the impact you create and the way you make people feel.

For Dr. Saniya Bagade Mehta, true success lies in making healthcare kinder and more human. As she beautifully puts it, “Degrees earn respect. Humanity earns trust.”

In this special edition, National Doctors Day 2026: Success Stories of India’s Most Inspiring Doctors, we celebrate remarkable medical professionals whose journeys, innovations and commitment to healing continue to inspire millions and redefine the future of healthcare in India.

Dr. Janhavi Banage Doshi is an Orthodontist whose work is centered around transforming smiles and restoring confidence. For her, orthodontics is about much more than straightening teeth—it is about helping people feel comfortable, smile freely, and enjoy a better quality of life.

The dream of becoming a doctor had always been a part of her life. However, her personal experience with braces became the turning point that shaped her career. After undergoing orthodontic treatment herself and experiencing the confidence that came with a healthy smile, she knew she wanted to help others experience the same transformation. That journey eventually led her to specialize in orthodontics.

Like every profession, her path has come with its own challenges and learning experiences. She believes that every journey has its ups and downs, but her passion for what she does has always kept her moving forward. One of the biggest sacrifices she has made since starting her postgraduate training has been finding time for herself. Despite the demanding nature of the profession, she has never regretted the path she chose and continues to enjoy every aspect of her work.

What inspires Dr. Janhavi the most are her patients and the joy they experience after treatment. Some of the most rewarding moments in her career have been hearing patients tell her that they can finally eat comfortably, smile confidently, and enjoy life without pain. One compliment that remains especially close to her heart is when patients tell her that she has “soft hands,” making even complex procedures comfortable and painless. For her, these moments define success more than any title or recognition.

Outside dentistry, Dr. Janhavi enjoys travelling and baking. She once ran a small venture selling homemade cookies and brownies, combining her love for baking with entrepreneurship. Although her demanding schedule eventually made it difficult to continue, it remains one of her cherished passions.

Her message to aspiring professionals and entrepreneurs is simple: trust the timing of your life. She believes that when the right time comes, things have a way of falling into place. Moving forward with confidence and trusting the process are just as important as hard work.

Above all, Dr. Janhavi credits her mother as the strongest pillar in her life. She believes that everything she has achieved so far has been possible because of her mother’s unwavering support, love, and encouragement. While she is grateful for everything she has accomplished, she sees her story as only the beginning. With the support of her loved ones and the trust of her patients, she believes the best chapters of her journey are still ahead.
