Ekta, Founder – Weddings by ESL

Ekta, Founder of Weddings by ESL, is redefining the art of luxury wedding planning and design. With a background in hospitality, she brings together her love for detail, storytelling, and human connection to craft celebrations that are both personal and unforgettable. For her, weddings are not just events but cherished milestones, and she takes pride in translating each couple’s quirks, traditions, and love story into moments that feel uniquely theirs.
Her journey into weddings began during her hotelier days, where she witnessed the joy, emotion, and gratitude that weddings inspire. Choosing to carry forward that magic, she founded Weddings by ESL and has since curated everything from intimate seaside vows to multi-day cultural extravaganzas across India and destinations like Dubai, Qatar, Muscat, and Montenegro.
Ekta’s entrepreneurial path has been marked by milestones, including opening the brand’s first international office in Dubai and receiving recognition such as ET Panache Women of the Year, WOW Middle East Gold for Best Intimate Wedding, and Wedding Sutra Platinum for Best Overall Wedding of the Year. Yet, she values emotional moments just as much as accolades—like watching a couple moved to tears when they saw their love story brought to life through décor, music, and thoughtful details.
Challenges, from limited resources in the early days to the pandemic’s disruption, only strengthened her resilience and drive to innovate. Inspired by her couples and global creative visionaries, Ekta continues to push boundaries through sustainable practices, technology integration, and trend-forward design rooted in authenticity.
Her vision is clear: to see Indian weddings celebrated not only for grandeur but also for creativity, innovation, and artistry—placing them firmly on the global map while staying true to tradition.

Chirag Jain, Founder – Stardom Entertainment

Meet Chirag, the dynamic founder of Stardom Entertainment — a luxury wedding planning company that transforms dreams into unforgettable celebrations. Built on passion, precision, and personal connection, Stardom Entertainment is not just about creating beautiful events — it’s about crafting moments that feel deeply personal, effortless, and magical.
With over eight years in the wedding and events industry, Chirag’s journey began from the ground up. From managing reality shows to handling high-profile operations for the IPL at Wankhede Stadium, he has seen it all — the chaos, the pressure, and the joy that comes with pulling off big events. Those experiences shaped his belief that true success lies in the details — and in ensuring that clients get to live their dream, not manage it.
Two years ago, this belief took shape as Stardom Entertainment — a brand born out of a desire to redefine how weddings are planned. For Chirag, it was never about extravagance alone; it was about emotional connection. Every couple’s story is different, and his mission is to tell that story beautifully, seamlessly, and stress-free.
Starting out, however, wasn’t easy. Chirag had to build everything from scratch — trust, goodwill, and a team that shared his vision. The early days were marked by sleepless nights, small budgets, and the constant pressure to prove himself in an industry filled with seasoned talent. He recalls a time when the sum he earned working under others wasn’t enough to sustain his needs, but instead of chasing money, he chose to chase learning. That decision became the foundation of his success.
Today, Stardom Entertainment stands as a symbol of passion and professionalism. Every wedding planned by his team reflects an obsessive attention to detail — from conceptualization to execution, from emotions to experience. For Chirag, success isn’t measured in scale or grandeur, but in the words clients share after the big day: “We could truly enjoy our wedding because of you.”
That simple line, he says, makes every effort worth it.
Outside of work, Chirag is as energetic and driven as he is in business. A passionate sports enthusiast, he loves playing cricket and even organizes cricket tournaments regularly. He’s also an avid pickleball player — a sport that keeps him active and competitive. When he’s not working or playing, you’ll find him exploring new places, spending time with friends, and soaking in new experiences. His social nature, he believes, fuels his creativity and helps him connect with people from all walks of life — something that often reflects in his work.
Chirag draws his inspiration from his clients — their trust, their emotions, and their stories. Every wedding, he says, teaches him something new about patience, creativity, and human connection.
For Chirag, success is deeply personal. “Stardom Entertainment was born from a simple dream — to make weddings stress-free and emotionally fulfilling for every client,” he shares. His goal is to continue creating meaningful, joy-filled experiences and to make Stardom Entertainment synonymous with passion, trust, and excellence.
Shreya Dakshesh Mistry, Founder – 60Seconds

Shreya Dakshesh Mistry is the dynamic force behind “60Seconds,” a guest management company that has become a trusted name in the Indian event and wedding industry. What began as a curiosity while pursuing her B.Com at H.R. College in Mumbai led her to EMDI event institute, and soon, event management went from being a fun experiment to a full-blown passion. Her first on-ground experience was the Lewis Hamilton race at BKC in 2011, and she hasn’t looked back since. After exploring different verticals in the event industry, Shreya discovered her natural flair for people skills and gravitated toward guest management. With her ability to connect effortlessly with strangers and troubleshoot on the go, 60Seconds was born in 2018—founded on a people-first mindset and Shreya’s unwavering determination.
Her journey, however, has been anything but easy. Coming from a small town in Gujarat, she had to face not just the industry’s challenges, but also initial resistance at home. Her father, like many others, had reservations about a woman entering what he perceived to be a glamorous, unstable field. But Shreya was certain—this was the space where she belonged. Over time, he saw his daughter’s grit and supported her unconditionally. She freelanced widely before launching her own venture, often hearing that she wouldn’t last. But she turned those doubts into fuel, building 60Seconds from the ground up with a “no giving up” spirit.
Today, 60Seconds has worked with some of the most prominent clients in India and abroad—from the weddings of Praful Patel’s son in Jaipur, Poorna Patel’s brother-in-law in Ahmedabad, to corporate events like IIFA, DCVMN for Poonawalla, Anita Dongre’s ReWild launch with ICE Global, and many more. Her work has taken her across India and international destinations like Dubai, Nepal, and Turkey. In addition to leading her business, Shreya has also been a guest lecturer at WizMIME and its affiliated institutions, sharing her knowledge with the next generation of event professionals.
Inspiration for her comes from everywhere—from the women who made space in this industry before it was even recognized to the mistakes and learnings of each day. She acknowledges the reality of being a woman in a male-dominated and often misunderstood field, where ethical paths are hard to hold and stereotypes come uninvited. But for her, integrity matters most. If she can look in the mirror each morning with pride, she knows she’s doing it right.
Apart from her core business, she has recently launched “Milletnials,” a millet-based food brand, showcasing her ever-evolving entrepreneurial spirit. Shreya’s message to aspiring professionals is rooted in realism—don’t be fooled by the glamour. This industry is demanding, often exhausting, and yet incredibly rewarding for those who truly love it. Build networks, stay flexible, and never hesitate to seek help. Above all, be passionate—because in a world full of facades, only passion can sustain you.
Nitin Mathur, Co-founder – The Wedding Square

Nitin Mathur, co-founder of The Wedding Square, has spent over 27 years crafting unforgettable wedding experiences that blend tradition with contemporary elegance. His journey into the wedding industry began unexpectedly through event planning, but the magic of orchestrating celebrations that bring families together quickly became his passion.
With The Wedding Square, Nitin and his team transform each couple’s vision into reality, handling every detail—from venue selection to décor and coordination—so families can fully immerse themselves in the joy of the occasion. Whether it’s a grand affair in Italy, France, or Spain, or an intimate gathering in India, he ensures every wedding is personal, meaningful, and flawlessly executed.
Building a brand in such a competitive industry hasn’t been without challenges. Trends evolve rapidly, expectations are diverse, and destination weddings bring their own complexities. But for Nitin, each obstacle has been an opportunity to innovate, adapt, and push creative boundaries. His greatest inspiration comes from the couples and families he works with—their stories, traditions, and dreams fuel his passion to redefine wedding planning in India.
Staying ahead in the industry requires constant learning. Nitin travels, collaborates with global creatives, and immerses himself in diverse cultural experiences to bring fresh perspectives to his designs while honoring timeless traditions. Through his work, he has witnessed firsthand how weddings can be more than just extravagant events; they can be deeply personal experiences that bridge cultures and create lasting memories.
Looking ahead, he envisions the Indian wedding industry embracing both grandeur and sustainability. With The Wedding Square, he hopes to pioneer practices that not only create spectacular celebrations but also leave a positive impact. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple: stay authentic, listen to your clients, and never lose sight of the joy that weddings bring.

What sets Pradeep apart is his vision—one that seamlessly fuses traditional artistry with modern design. His passion and forward-thinking leadership have made The Stage Craft Jaipur one of India’s leading names in event décor, with each project a reflection of timeless elegance and contemporary innovation.
Harshit Arora, Founder – Jashn-E-Events

Harshit Arora is the third-generation entrepreneur behind Jashn-E-Events by Arora Decorators, a family-run business that has been shaping the Indian wedding industry for over four decades. Specialising in decor, lighting, tenting, and custom furniture, the company brings together cultural traditions and modern design to create unforgettable celebrations tailored to each client’s story.
From a young age, Harshit was inspired by his father’s unwavering dedication—watching him work late nights and early mornings to bring events to life. Though his family encouraged him to complete his education first, his passion led him to begin exploring the business early through wedding stationery and invitations. After graduation, he joined the renowned Touchwood Group, where his first event, interning under Mr. Walid Baz for the Dilbagh family, marked a powerful start to his journey.
Over the years, Harshit has contributed to several high-profile projects, including tenders for IPL and Ramleela, and curated experiences for brands like Hero FinCorp, Audi, NAB, and the wedding of Mr. Salman Khurshid’s son. Known for taking on last-minute challenges, he once executed a wedding setup within a few hours of receiving the inquiry—an example of his calm, resourceful approach under pressure.
Harshit credits much of his growth to the values instilled by his father—hard work, resilience, and a willingness to evolve with the times. He believes inspiration comes from everywhere, from modern spaces to cultural landmarks, and most importantly, from the clients themselves. His vision remains simple: to create experiences that leave a lasting emotional impact, while continuously adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the wedding industry. For him, every event is a blank canvas, ready to be transformed with creativity, heart, and purpose.

This special edition, “Success Stories: Top 10 Physiotherapists Transforming Lives Across India,” celebrates the journeys of these inspiring healers whose dedication, innovation, and patient-centric approach continue to set new benchmarks in modern rehabilitation care.
Bhavna Rajesh Devnani, Internationally licensed Physiotherapist, Healthcare leader, Educator, Entrepreneur & Speaker

Bhavna Rajesh Devnani is an internationally licensed Physiotherapist, healthcare leader, educator, entrepreneur, and speaker whose career spans India, the United States, and Canada. Licensed to practice in both New York and Canada, she has built a reputation for combining clinical excellence with healthcare leadership, working to improve not only patient outcomes but also the systems that deliver care.
Her journey began with a passion for helping people regain movement, confidence, and independence through rehabilitation. After graduating as the Gold Medalist and Valedictorian in her Bachelor of Physiotherapy program in India, she pursued a Master’s degree in Kinesiology in Texas, where she gained extensive experience treating athletes, neurological patients, post-surgical cases, musicians, and dancers. She later established herself as a successful physical therapist in New York before earning Canadian licensure, once again demonstrating her ability to adapt, excel, and rebuild her career across international healthcare systems.
Today, as a Clinical Director, Bhavna works at the intersection of patient care, healthcare operations, and business strategy. Her role extends beyond clinical practice to mentoring clinicians, developing rehabilitation programs, optimizing multidisciplinary healthcare organizations, and driving innovation that enhances both patient care and operational excellence.
Throughout her career, she has remained committed to advancing the profession through education. She has spoken at international conferences, published educational articles, taught rehabilitation courses worldwide, and hosts the podcast Let’s Talk About Health by Bhavna, where she engages healthcare experts in meaningful conversations that inspire professionals across the globe.
Bhavna credits her parents for instilling the values of integrity, resilience, and lifelong learning, while acknowledging her husband, Avinash Khemwani, as her constant source of encouragement and support. Relocating across three countries meant repeatedly navigating new licensing systems, adapting to different healthcare environments, and rebuilding her professional identity from the ground up. Those experiences strengthened her belief that resilience and adaptability are among the most valuable qualities a leader can possess.
Beyond healthcare, she enjoys mentoring young professionals, exploring healthcare innovation, travelling, discovering new cultures, and continuously investing in personal and professional growth.
For Bhavna, success is measured by impact rather than titles. Her mission is to influence healthcare on a global scale by empowering clinicians, strengthening healthcare organizations, and ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, evidence-based care. She believes that every new beginning is an opportunity to grow, lead, and create lasting change.
Dr. Naresh Choithani, Senior Physiotherapist, Founder – Sai Physiotherapy & Fitness Clinic

Dr. Naresh Choithani is a Senior Physiotherapist and the Founder of Sai Physiotherapy And Fitness Clinic in Surat. With more than 27 years of experience, his professional journey has been defined by a commitment to patient care, continuous learning and the adoption of advanced rehabilitation technologies.
His interest in physiotherapy emerged from a desire to help people overcome pain, injuries and physical limitations while exploring alternatives to invasive procedures wherever appropriate. Over the years, this motivation evolved into a career focused on helping patients regain movement, independence and confidence.
Throughout his journey, Dr. Naresh has treated a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, sciatica, slipped discs, knee and joint problems, paralysis, stroke and various post-surgical conditions. At Sai Physiotherapy And Fitness Clinic, he has continually worked towards integrating modern technology with evidence-based treatment approaches.
The clinic has adopted a range of advanced rehabilitation and pain-management technologies, including DOC and knee decompression tables, Hilterapia, Matrix Rhythm Therapy, robotic gait training, manipulative chiropractic equipment, robotic decompression therapy, CO₂ cryotherapy and cryolipolysis. For Dr. Naresh, however, technology is a means to strengthen patient care rather than an end in itself. His focus remains on combining professional expertise with appropriate treatment approaches to provide comprehensive rehabilitation.
One of the biggest milestones of his career has been earning the trust of more than 1,00,000 patients. Every patient who progresses from severe pain or physical limitation towards better movement and independence reinforces his commitment to the profession.
His patients remain his greatest inspiration. Their recovery motivates him to keep learning and improving, while the complexities of clinical practice have taught him to remain adaptable. Keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology and maintaining consistent dedication across every patient are among the challenges that have shaped his professional growth.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Naresh focuses on professional development, fitness and physiotherapy awareness. He believes that educating people about physical health and rehabilitation is an important part of prevention and long-term wellbeing.
His message to aspiring doctors and healthcare professionals is clear: keep learning, stay updated and always put the patient first. Technical knowledge is essential, but empathy, patience and dedication are equally important.
For Dr. Naresh, success cannot be measured only by years of experience or the number of patients treated. It is reflected in the hope a patient carries out of the clinic after arriving with pain, weakness or difficulty in movement. After 27+ years and the trust of over 1,00,000 patients, his goal remains unchanged—to continue advancing physiotherapy and rehabilitation while helping people achieve a better quality of life.
Dr. Deeksha Singh, MIAP, MPT (Obstetrics & Gynaecology Physiotherapy)

Dr. Deeksha Singh, MIAP, MPT (Obstetrics & Gynaecology Physiotherapy), is a Pelvic Floor and Women’s Health Physiotherapist, healthcare entrepreneur, published author, researcher and educator, and the Founder of Hormonal Wings Physiotherapy Clinic in Mumbai. Her work focuses on pelvic health, women’s health, sexual health, fertility, antenatal and postnatal rehabilitation, menstrual health, chronic pelvic pain and male pelvic health.
Her entry into physiotherapy began with a suggestion from her sister and father after her intermediate studies. But her eventual specialisation in women’s and pelvic health emerged through a series of unexpected experiences. During her second year of Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy, an article on pregnancy and physiotherapy caught her attention in the library. Curiosity led her to explore the subject further, gradually developing into a passion. She went on to pursue an MPT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Physiotherapy and specialised training in pelvic floor health.
Another defining turning point came during her internship at Research and Referral (R&R) Army Hospital, New Delhi, where she developed a deep admiration for the Armed Forces. She appeared for the CDS and AFCAT examinations, cleared both, and subsequently appeared for the SSB interview for OTA at Bhopal, which she also cleared. During those SSB days, she witnessed a young woman experiencing such severe period pain that she had to return home. The moment stayed with her. It made her realise that perhaps her calling was not to become an officer, but to become the healthcare professional who could understand and help people facing suffering that is often normalised or ignored. That experience strengthened her resolve to work in women’s health and give a voice to concerns that many hesitate to discuss.
Her professional journey began in Delhi, followed by work in Kanpur, before she moved to Mumbai and established Hormonal Wings. Over the past decade, the practice has grown into an offline and online healthcare platform. She has treated more than 15,000 OPD patients and 5,000 virtual patients while pursuing research, teaching, academic presentations, workshops, conferences and healthcare innovation.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Deeksha has authored seven bookscovering pregnancy, periods, hormones, pelvic floor health, fertility and sexual health, AI in healthcare and physiotherapy, arthritis, and the evolution of physiotherapy worldwide, contributed to more than 25 research publications, holds 15+ copyrights and two patents, and has pursued further learning in therapeutic nutrition and AI in business and entrepreneurship. Through The Intimate Doc and her YouTube platform, Hormonal Wings with Dr. Deeksha Singh, she addresses subjects people often hesitate to discuss.
Her mother remains her biggest inspiration, while her family—particularly her parents and siblings—has been integral to her journey. Her partner, Anuj, has been with her since day zero, collaborating on articles and a co-authored book.
For Dr. Deeksha, success is not defined by patients treated, books written or research published. It is the ability to combine clinical care, education, research, entrepreneurship and technology while giving a voice to silent suffering. Her vision for Hormonal Wings is to make it synonymous with awareness, accessibility, empathy and hope.
Dr. Mihirdev Jhala (PT, Ph.D.), Neuro Physiotherapist & Principal at JG College of Physiotherapy

Dr. Mihirdev Jhala (PT, Ph.D.) is a Neuro Physiotherapist and Principal at JG College of Physiotherapy, Ahmedabad, with 16 years of experience in clinical practice, education, research and academic leadership. His journey in physiotherapy began with a fascination for the human body and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. What started as a career choice gradually became a deeper calling, driven by the ability to help patients regain movement, independence and confidence.
Over the years, Dr. Jhala has built a career that extends beyond clinical practice. With a strong interest in Neuro Physiotherapy, he has continuously pursued learning while also developing his passion for teaching and research. His transition into academia gave him the opportunity to mentor students and contribute to the development of the next generation of physiotherapists. Becoming a Professor and eventually taking on the responsibility of Principal has been both an achievement and a responsibility he deeply values.
His journey has included its share of professional challenges, self-doubt and the demanding task of balancing clinical work, teaching, research and administration. Rather than allowing these challenges to hold him back, he chose to view them as opportunities for growth. His parents & wife remain his greatest inspiration, having instilled in him discipline, perseverance and humility. Teachers, mentors and colleagues have also played an important role in encouraging him to keep evolving.
For Dr. Jhala, the most rewarding part of his profession is seeing the impact of physiotherapy—whether it is a patient making progress or a student developing into a confident professional. These experiences continually reinforce his belief that healthcare is ultimately about touching lives.
Beyond physiotherapy and academics, Dr. Jhala has an entrepreneurial side and is involved in real estate, which has broadened his understanding of business, investments and calculated risk-taking. His greatest passion outside work, however, is riding superbikes. His Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is his favourite companion, and Sunday rides provide him with a sense of freedom and an opportunity to disconnect from his demanding routine.
His message to aspiring healthcare professionals is simple: never stop learning and never lose empathy. He encourages young professionals to remain humble, embrace failures, continuously upgrade their skills and have the courage to think differently. According to him, a degree may make someone a professional, but character, compassion and commitment make them a true healthcare professional.
Dr. Jhala does not define success by a position, income or recognition. For him, success is measured by growth, the lives he influences and the people he inspires. From student to clinician, educator, researcher and academic leader, his journey continues to evolve and he sees every achievement not as an ending, but as the beginning of the next chapter.
Dr. Dilpreet Singh K. Bhatia, MPT, Orthopedic & Sports Physiotherapist & Consultant Physiotherapist

Dr. Dilpreet Singh K. Bhatia, MPT, is an Orthopedic and Sports Physiotherapist and Consultant Physiotherapist practising in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, Gujarat. As the Founder of DASHMESH PHYSIO HEALTHCARE, his work is rooted in a simple belief: physiotherapy is not merely about relieving pain, but about helping people reclaim movement, independence and confidence.
His interest in physiotherapy grew from a fascination with the human body and the science of movement. During his academic journey, he developed a particular interest in orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation, recognising the transformative role rehabilitation can play in helping patients return to everyday life and athletes return to their sport.
After completing his BPT, Dr. Bhatia pursued his Master of Physiotherapy in Orthopedic and Sports Conditions, securing third rank at the university level. Since then, his career has been shaped by clinical experience, continuous education and a commitment to patient-centred care. Having treated more than 1,000 patients, he has worked with a diverse range of orthopaedic, sports, post-operative and musculoskeletal conditions.
An important aspect of his practice has been providing physiotherapy at patients’ doorsteps across Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. For individuals who find travelling to a clinic difficult, this approach allows rehabilitation to take place in a familiar environment while remaining personalised and structured.
For Dr. Bhatia, however, his profession extends beyond clinical practice. Physiotherapy sewa at the Gurudwara holds a particularly meaningful place in his journey. Being able to use his professional knowledge to serve people without expecting anything in return has strengthened his belief that healthcare becomes even more meaningful when it is combined with service.
His journey has not been without challenges. Establishing professional credibility, earning patients’ trust, managing responsibilities and continuously upgrading his skills have all required patience and consistency. Through these experiences, he has learned that progress does not always happen quickly, but persistence eventually creates its own momentum.
He is now preparing to begin another chapter with the upcoming DASHMESH PHYSIO HEALTHCARE Rehabilitation Centre in Gandhinagar—a vision shaped by years of clinical experience and a desire to provide quality, evidence-based and compassionate rehabilitation under one roof.
Outside his professional life, Dr. Bhatia remains committed to learning, fitness, sports-related activities, professional networking and physiotherapy education. Sewa continues to be an important part of his life and philosophy.
His advice to young healthcare professionals is straightforward: keep learning, uphold your ethics and never lose sight of the person behind the diagnosis. Qualifications may open doors, but knowledge, compassion, consistency and integrity determine how far one goes.
For Dr. Bhatia, success is still a journey in progress. The real measure lies not in numbers or titles, but in the lives improved through his work. His vision is to continue healing with knowledge, serving with compassion and moving lives forward.

Her husband, Mr. Darshan Dave has been one of her strongest pillars of support, while her daughter Divaa remains her biggest source of motivation and encouragement. She is also inspired by the patients who place their trust in her every day. Their determination to recover and the confidence they regain through treatment motivate her to keep learning and improving.
As a woman entrepreneur, balancing professional responsibilities with personal commitments has presented its own challenges. Building a new clinic, earning patients’ trust, developing a strong team and managing multiple responsibilities required patience and resilience. Rather than allowing these challenges to hold her back, she used them as opportunities to grow. She believes qualities such as empathy, patience and communication have been instrumental in building meaningful relationships with both patients and her team.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Binal works towards creating awareness around women’s health, preventive physiotherapy, movement and wellness. She also participates in educational programs, workshops and professional development activities. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and pursuing activities that help her maintain balance and wellbeing.
Her message to aspiring professionals is simple: believe in your vision, start even if you cannot see the entire path, and never stop learning. She encourages young professionals to remain consistent, uphold integrity and focus on creating genuine value rather than chasing shortcuts.
For Dr. Binal, success is not measured only by professional recognition. It is seen in every patient who moves better, feels stronger and regains confidence. Her goal is to continue promoting quality physiotherapy and empowering people to take charge of their health—one recovery at a time.
Dr. Rucha S. Patel, BPT Gold Medalist, MPT – Orthopedic Physiotherapy, PhD Scholar & Sports Physiotherapist – Sports Authority of Gujarat

Dr. Rucha S. Patel is a BPT Gold Medalist, MPT in Orthopedic Physiotherapy, PhD Scholar, and Sports Physiotherapist with the Sports Authority of Gujarat. With experience spanning clinical practice, academics, research, and sports rehabilitation, her professional journey reflects a strong commitment to continuous learning and helping people regain strength, confidence, and independence.
Her interest in physiotherapy began with a fascination for human movement and rehabilitation. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a particular passion for understanding how the body recovers from injury and how physiotherapy can help people return to the activities they love. Completing her BPT as a Gold Medalist became an important milestone and encouraged her to pursue an MPT in Orthopedic Physiotherapy.
As her clinical and academic exposure grew, Dr. Rucha developed a special interest in sports rehabilitation. Working with athletes showed her that physiotherapy is not limited to treating injuries—it also plays an important role in injury prevention, functional assessment, performance, and ensuring a safe return to sport. This passion eventually led her to pursue her current role with the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
Her journey has taken her through several distinct phases. After completing her Master’s degree, she stepped into academics as an Assistant Professor. Moving from being a student to teaching and mentoring others brought an entirely new set of responsibilities and taught her valuable lessons in communication, leadership and continuous self-improvement. She later moved to Chennai for clinical experience, where she encountered an unexpected challenge—the language barrier. Communicating with patients initially proved difficult, but rather than allowing it to become a limitation, she adapted to her surroundings and gradually overcame it. The experience strengthened her confidence and taught her the importance of patience and adaptability.
Determined to pursue sports physiotherapy, Dr. Rucha prepared herself for the rigorous selection process and successfully secured her position with the Sports Authority of Gujarat. Alongside her clinical work, she remains actively involved in research and academic publications and is currently pursuing her PhD. She is also certified in Muscle Energy Technique, Cupping Therapy, Manual Therapy, and Prenatal and Postnatal Physiotherapy.
Her greatest inspiration comes from her patients and athletes. Watching someone regain mobility, rebuild confidence or return to the field after an injury continues to remind her why she chose this profession. As a woman balancing clinical responsibilities, teaching, research and higher education, she has experienced moments of pressure and self-doubt, but these have strengthened her resilience and determination.
Outside work, Dr. Rucha enjoys music, gardening, spiritual activities, movies and travelling. She believes maintaining interests beyond one’s profession creates the balance necessary for sustained growth.
Her message to aspiring professionals, particularly young women, is simple: believe in yourself, keep learning and never compare your journey with someone else’s. Every individual has a different starting point and timeline. Education, skill, confidence, consistency and perseverance are what ultimately create lasting success.
For Dr. Rucha, success is not defined merely by being a Gold Medalist, earning professional qualifications or becoming a Sports Physiotherapist. It is reflected in the athlete who returns to the field, the patient who regains confidence, the student who learns from her, and the contribution she makes through research. Her goal is to continue bringing together clinical excellence, sports rehabilitation, education, research and compassionate care while creating a meaningful impact on the lives of her patients, athletes and students.
Dr. Rupam Sarkar, M.P.T. (Cardiopulmonary Sciences), Physiotherapist, Educator, Researcher, Innovator, Academic entrepreneur

Dr. Rupam Sarkar, M.P.T. (Cardiopulmonary Sciences), is a physiotherapist, educator, researcher, innovator, academic entrepreneur, and Examiner of Patents and Designs, working at the intersection of healthcare, research, and technology. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor while pursuing his Ph.D., he is also the Founder and Director of Physiotrance Academy – Physio Research Hub, an initiative focused on research, innovation, intellectual property, and academic development within physiotherapy and healthcare.
His journey began with a conventional path in physiotherapy. After completing his B.P.T., he pursued his Master’s degree in Cardiopulmonary Sciences. During his academic and clinical experiences, however, he began to recognise that physiotherapy could contribute to much more than patient treatment. Research, technology, innovation, and problem-solving opened up an entirely new dimension of the profession for him.
His professional journey has therefore evolved across clinical practice, sports physiotherapy, academics, research, and innovation. He has worked in various clinical and sports settings, including with the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team and at marathon events, before moving into academics. Today, alongside his responsibilities as an Assistant Professor, he is actively involved in research methodology, publications, intellectual property rights, patents, copyrights, AI in physiotherapy, and rehabilitation innovation.
One of the most distinctive aspects of his journey is his work in intellectual property. His profile includes more than 75 patents, of which 65 have been granted, along with over 45 copyrights. Twelve of his utility patents have also been reported in the Official IPR Journal of the Government of India. He has additionally served as a resource person and speaker at professional programmes covering areas such as Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), CPR, Artificial Intelligence, IPR, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), research methodology, and rehabilitation.
For Dr. Rupam, however, these numbers are not the ultimate measure of achievement. What matters most is the evolution from simply learning a profession to creating solutions within it. His work through Physiotrance Academy reflects this philosophy by supporting students and professionals with research guidance, academic development, innovation, patents, copyrights, and evidence-based practice.
His inspiration comes from a desire to create meaningful solutions rather than simply follow an established path. He believes that when healthcare professionals identify a problem, they should go beyond discussing it and ask whether they can develop a better solution. Balancing academics, clinical responsibilities, research, innovation, publications, workshops, and professional development has demanded considerable discipline. There have been periods when progress was slow and ideas were difficult to translate into practical innovations, but these experiences have reinforced his belief that meaningful success is usually built through consistent effort, even when nobody is watching.
Beyond his core responsibilities, Dr. Rupam remains actively engaged in academic mentoring, conferences, workshops, and professional education. He also contributes as a reviewer at CET Cell, Maharashtra Government, serves as an editorial contributor to academic journals, and participates as a speaker, panelist, chairperson, and resource person at professional events.
His contributions to physiotherapy, research, innovation, and academic development have also received recognition at various national and international conferences and professional platforms. He has been honoured with several awards, accolades, and recognitions for his work in research, innovation, academic excellence, and professional contribution. His participation in national and international scientific forums has provided opportunities to present his ideas, share innovative work, and engage with researchers and healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds.
His message to young healthcare professionals is clear: “Don’t limit yourself to your degree.” A qualification may give you a profession, but curiosity, research, innovation, and courage can help you build an identity of your own. He encourages young professionals to learn research methodology, explore technology and AI, understand intellectual property, publish their ideas, protect their innovations, and collaborate across disciplines.
For Dr. Rupam, success remains a work in progress. His greatest achievement is the ability to continuously learn and then use that knowledge to empower students, patients, researchers, and fellow professionals. His journey from physiotherapy education to academics, research, innovation, IPR, and entrepreneurship embodies one central philosophy:
“Think beyond treatment. Think about transformation.”

Over the years, Dr. Harsha has treated patients across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, intensive care, and pediatrics. His broad clinical experience has strengthened his belief that every patient’s recovery is unique and that effective rehabilitation requires not only technical expertise but also empathy, patience, and trust.
His greatest inspiration is his mother, a respected advocate whose dedication, hard work, and strong values continue to guide him both personally and professionally. Watching her commitment to excellence taught him the importance of perseverance, discipline, and serving others with integrity.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Harsha is passionate about spreading awareness about physiotherapy through his YouTube channel, where he shares educational content and patient recovery stories. He believes physiotherapists must cultivate strong communication skills, ethical values, compassion, patience, discipline, and a genuine passion for helping others. According to him, every patient’s smile and successful recovery is the greatest reward a healthcare professional can receive.
For Dr. Sree Harsha, success is measured not by titles or recognition but by the countless lives he has helped restore. Every patient who regains movement, confidence, and independence reinforces his commitment to the profession and motivates him to continue making a meaningful difference through physiotherapy.
Dr. Sadia Shaikh, Consultant Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor

Dr. Sadia Shaikh is a Consultant Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor, and founder of specialized rehabilitation clinics across Mumbai and Thane (Mumbra). With over 13 years of clinical experience, she is dedicated to helping people recover from pain, restore movement, and improve their quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation and personalized care.
Interestingly, physiotherapy was not part of her original career plan. As a competitive sportsperson, she experienced the transformative role of physiotherapy firsthand, and those experiences inspired her to pursue the profession. What began as an unexpected path soon evolved into a lifelong passion for helping others regain strength, confidence, and independence.
Her professional journey began in hospital outpatient and inpatient departments, where she built a strong clinical foundation by treating patients across a wide range of conditions. Her expertise and commitment later led her to serve as the Head Physiotherapist for elite ultra-marathon events, working closely with endurance athletes and managing complex sports-related injuries. Today, she leads her own rehabilitation centers while also serving as a consultant with several leading hospitals, combining clinical excellence with a patient-centered approach.
Dr. Shaikh credits her parents as her greatest source of inspiration. Their constant encouragement gave her the confidence to pursue ambitious goals and face every challenge with determination. Establishing herself as a female practitioner in a highly competitive metropolitan city was not without obstacles, but through consistent hard work, ethical practice, and genuine patient care, she gradually built a trusted reputation and a thriving practice.
Beyond her clinical work, she is passionate about promoting movement-based wellness and helping people understand the importance of rehabilitation in preventing injuries and maintaining long-term health. She believes that physiotherapy is not just about treating pain but about enabling people to live fuller, healthier, and more active lives.
Her message to aspiring professionals is grounded in resilience: growth is rarely a straight path. Rather than fearing obstacles, successful professionals learn to assess challenges objectively, adapt their approach, and continue moving forward with confidence.
For Dr. Sadia Shaikh, success is measured not by milestones alone but by the lives she helps transform. Every patient who returns to work, resumes sport, or regains independence after rehabilitation reminds her why she chose this profession. As she continues to expand her practice, her mission remains unchanged—to make high-quality rehabilitation accessible while empowering people to move better, recover stronger, and live healthier lives.

Success in dentistry is measured by far more than clinical expertise—it is reflected in the ability to transform lives through compassionate care, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to oral health. Across India, a new generation of dental professionals is redefining the standards of patient care by embracing advanced technologies, evidence-based treatments, preventive dentistry, and personalized solutions. Their dedication is not only creating healthier smiles but also shaping the future of the country’s healthcare ecosystem.
In this special edition, Mumbai Uncensored celebrates ten exceptional dental professionals whose inspiring journeys exemplify excellence, leadership, and service. From pioneering cutting-edge procedures and mentoring the next generation of dentists to advancing research, community outreach, and patient education, these visionaries are making a lasting impact on the field of dentistry while setting new benchmarks for quality, ethics, and innovation across India.
Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi, Founder – Meraki Dental Studio

Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi is an aesthetic dentist, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Meraki Dental Studio in New Delhi. With a philosophy rooted in clinical excellence and personalized care, she has dedicated her career to helping people rediscover confidence through beautiful, healthy smiles.
Drawn to the unique blend of science, artistry, and human connection that dentistry offers, she found her calling in a profession that transforms not just oral health, but self-esteem and quality of life. Over the years, she has expanded her role beyond patient care, mentoring fellow dentists and contributing to the profession through lectures and educational programs.
Her journey has been one of courage and perseverance. Coming from a small city and moving to Delhi after marriage, she entered one of the country’s most competitive markets without the advantage of a medical background or established network. Beginning her career in a corporate dental chain before transitioning into private practice, she eventually took a leap of faith and founded Meraki Dental Studio in 2016.
The path was far from easy. Three clinic relocations, the uncertainty brought by two COVID lockdowns, and the challenges of building a brand from scratch tested her resilience. Yet, every obstacle strengthened her conviction and helped shape Meraki Dental Studio into one of India’s trusted destinations for aesthetic dentistry.
One of her greatest inspirations is the iconic artist Frida Kahlo, whose courage and authenticity taught her the power of turning adversity into strength. As a woman entrepreneur and mother of twins, balancing the demands of family and a growing practice often felt overwhelming. Those experiences, however, taught her adaptability, patience, and the importance of a strong support system.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Harleen is passionate about education and travel. She regularly conducts workshops and lectures in aesthetic dentistry and aligner therapy, finding immense fulfillment in sharing knowledge and helping young professionals grow.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple: stop waiting for the perfect moment. Start with what you have, trust the process, and keep showing up consistently. Success, she believes, is not about perfection but persistence.
For Dr. Harleen Gandhi Kalsi, the greatest reward lies not in accolades, but in seeing patients smile with confidence, empowering fellow dentists, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams with courage and conviction.
Dr. Shreya Shivangi, MDS Dentist, Aesthetic Dentist, Endodontist & Sleep Apnea Care Professional

Dr. Shreya Shivangi is an MDS Dentist, Aesthetic Dentist, Endodontist and Sleep Apnea Care Professional based in Noida. She is the Director at Heal Studio Healthcare and Lead Consultant at FaceStudio Clinics, where she brings together advanced dentistry, aesthetic care and a broader understanding of oral and airway health. Her areas of expertise include aesthetic and conservative dentistry, endodontics, smile designing, painless dentistry, TMJ care and Dental Sleep Medicine, with a particular interest in the dental management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
For Dr. Shreya, dentistry began as a profession but gradually became a deeply meaningful part of her life. She was drawn to the field because of its unique combination of science, precision and creativity. During her education, her interest in saving natural teeth and managing complex dental conditions led her towards Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. Her interactions with patients, however, taught her that dentistry extends far beyond clinical procedures. Fear, anxiety and insecurities often accompany patients into the dental chair, and understanding those emotions became an important part of her approach. As she puts it, dentists do not simply treat teeth—they treat people.
Her interest in Dental Sleep Medicine grew from the same philosophy of looking at the patient as a whole. Recognising the connection between oral health, the jaw, airway and overall wellbeing, she developed a keen interest in helping identify patients who may be experiencing issues related to snoring and obstructive sleep apnea and guiding them towards appropriate care, including suitable oral appliance therapy.
Dr. Shreya completed her BDS from Manipal University and her MDS from Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental University, Navi Mumbai. During her postgraduate journey, she received the Richard Law Award grant from the Global Child Dental Fund in association with King’s College London. She has also undergone training in Laser Dentistry and completed an externship at the National University of Singapore. Her professional experience includes working as a consultant at Fortis Hospital, Jaypee Hospital and Primacare Hospital in Noida, where she gained exposure to diverse and complex cases.
Over time, her vision expanded from clinical practice to healthcare entrepreneurship. Through Heal Studio Healthcare and FaceStudio Clinics, she aims to create modern, patient-centric spaces where individuals can access advanced dental and specialist healthcare services under one roof.
Her journey has also involved learning to balance clinical responsibilities, entrepreneurship and the many demands that come with building something of her own. Her family and the inspiring women she has encountered throughout her career remain important sources of motivation. Each challenge has reinforced her belief that one does not need to have everything figured out before taking the next step.
Outside her professional life, Dr. Shreya enjoys travelling, exploring restaurants, riding, sports and spending time with family and friends. She also remains committed to continuous learning, believing that healthcare professionals must always remain students as medicine and dentistry continue to evolve.
Her message to aspiring professionals is straightforward: start with what you have, keep learning, embrace mistakes and continue improving. She particularly encourages women to build their own identity and professional confidence rather than measuring themselves against someone else’s definition of success.
For Dr. Shreya, success is ultimately measured by impact—the anxious patient who leaves feeling reassured, the person who regains confidence in their smile, or someone whose sleep-related concerns are finally recognised and appropriately addressed. Her vision is to continue building ethical, advanced and patient-focused healthcare services while increasing awareness about Dental Sleep Medicine and the role dentists can play in sleep apnea care.
Dr. Pankti Gangar Bhatia, Periodontist and Implantologist, Founder – Carving Smiles Multispeciality Dental Clinic

Dr. Pankti Gangar Bhatia is a Periodontist and Implantologist with over eight years of clinical experience and the Founder of Carving Smiles Multispeciality Dental Clinic in Chembur, Mumbai. For her, dentistry is more than a profession—it is a field where science, precision and empathy come together to create a tangible difference in people’s lives.
Coming from a family of engineers, entrepreneurs and accountants, Dr. Pankti initially envisioned a career in medicine with the desire to serve humanity. Dentistry eventually became an unexpected yet defining turn in her life. What began as a career choice gradually developed into a deep passion, particularly for understanding the teeth and their supporting structures. This interest led her to pursue her MDS in Periodontology and Implantology.
Today, her practice encompasses comprehensive dental care with a special focus on advanced periodontal treatments, dental implants, regenerative dentistry, laser gum procedures and full-mouth smile rehabilitation. She believes modern dentistry should extend beyond treatment to include patient education, accurate diagnosis, precision and compassionate communication. For her, one of the most rewarding moments is seeing a patient leave the clinic with renewed trust and confidence.
Establishing Carving Smiles marked a significant breakthrough in her professional journey. Becoming a practice owner required her to grow beyond clinical dentistry and develop an understanding of leadership, practice management, team building, patient communication, branding and business development. Each responsibility brought new lessons and pushed her to become more confident in making independent decisions.
Her journey has been supported by the people closest to her. She credits her family, her husband, Dr. Chirag Bhatia, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and her mentors for consistently standing by her and encouraging her growth. As a woman professional and entrepreneur, balancing multiple responsibilities while establishing her own identity has presented its challenges. Entrepreneurship has also meant navigating uncertainty, making difficult decisions and remaining resilient when things do not go according to plan. These experiences have ultimately strengthened her confidence and reinforced her belief in her own abilities.
Outside dentistry, Dr. Pankti enjoys travelling, listening to music and spending quality time with her family. She remains passionate about learning, both within dentistry and beyond her profession.
Her message to aspiring professionals is simple: believe in your capabilities, but never stop learning. Do not wait for perfect circumstances to begin. Start small, remain consistent and allow discipline and perseverance to turn your vision into something meaningful.
For Dr. Pankti, building Carving Smiles has been about creating more than a successful practice it has been about building a space that reflects her values and approach to patient care. She considers herself a work in progress, continuing to learn, evolve and strive for greater impact. For her, that continuous journey is itself one of the most rewarding definitions of success.
