India’s physiotherapy landscape is undergoing a remarkable transformation, driven by passionate professionals who are redefining recovery, mobility, and quality of life. From sports rehabilitation to neurological care and post-surgical recovery, these experts are not just treating conditions—they are restoring confidence and independence in countless lives.
This special edition, “Success Stories: Top 10 Physiotherapists Transforming Lives Across India,” celebrates the journeys of these inspiring healers whose dedication, innovation, and patient-centric approach continue to set new benchmarks in modern rehabilitation care.
Dr. Barkha Jasani, Physiotherapist, Founder – Lifetime Physio Care
Dr. Barkha Jasani is a physiotherapist and the founder of Lifetime Physio Care. With a passion for rehabilitation and holistic healing, she has dedicated her career to helping people recover stronger, move better, and lead healthier lives.
Born and raised in Rajkot, Gujarat, Dr. Jasani completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from RK University. Ever since childhood, Mumbai had been a dream city for her, and that dream came true when she moved there for her internship at Brahma Kumaris’ Global Hospital & Research Centre, managing BSES M.G. Hospital. Soon after, she joined Qi Spine Clinic, where she discovered her passion for spine rehabilitation. Although she initially planned to pursue a master’s degree, family responsibilities took priority. What began as a job eventually became an eight-year journey of learning, growth, and transforming countless lives. After working independently as a freelance physiotherapist for the last two years, she went on to establish Lifetime Physio Care.
Interestingly, physiotherapy was not her original plan. Her mother and masi always wanted her to pursue healthcare, while her father strongly believed physiotherapy would be the right path. Looking back today, Dr. Jasani considers it one of life’s greatest blessings. What began as a decision guided by family eventually became her purpose.
Her greatest inspirations have been her godfather, mother, and masi, along with the unwavering support of her family and friends. Losing her mother was one of the most difficult chapters of her life, but the love and strength she received from those around her helped her overcome the loss and move forward with resilience.
As a woman, balancing professional aspirations with personal responsibilities has not always been easy. Yet, she believes that patience, perseverance, and self-belief make it possible to navigate even the toughest phases of life.
Beyond physiotherapy, Dr. Jasani enjoys dancing, singing, music, drawing, swimming, travelling, spending time in nature, and experimenting in the kitchen. She believes life should be enjoyed fully and that personal passions help maintain balance and happiness.
Her message to aspiring professionals is simple: give your work your heart, mind, and soul. Stay committed to the process, trust the journey, and focus on showing up consistently. Success, she believes, is built quietly through patience, hard work, and faith in oneself.
For Dr. Barkha Jasani, success is not a destination but a continuous journey of growth. Every challenge has made her stronger, every experience has taught her valuable lessons, and every patient she helps reinforces her purpose. Above all, she believes in staying grounded, enjoying the journey, and never losing faith in oneself.
Dr. Jhanvi K. Rathod, Physiotherapist & Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT)
Dr. Jhanvi K. Rathod is a Physiotherapist and Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) currently working at Asian Physiotherapy and Research Institute, Surat. A graduate of SPB Physiotherapy College, Surat, her journey into the profession is one of resilience, perseverance and an unwavering refusal to give up.
Until Class 10, Jhanvi was a bright student, consistently scoring between 80 and 90 percent. However, the years that followed brought a series of setbacks she could never have anticipated. From Class 11 and 12 to NEET, GUJCET and her first year of college, she faced more than ten failures across examinations and academic milestones over nearly seven and a half years. Not once during that period did she clear an exam on her first attempt.
There came a point when the repeated setbacks made her consider giving up on her studies altogether. It was then that her family became her strongest support system. They continued to believe in her even when she struggled to believe in herself. Her father, Ketan M. Rathod, played a particularly important role in helping her find a new direction. When she was ready to leave her studies, he secured her admission into Physiotherapy—a decision that eventually changed the course of her life.
Today, Jhanvi looks back at those difficult years differently. What once felt like failure after failure became the foundation of her resilience. She is now actively building her professional identity through clinical work, research, conferences and public awareness. She regularly attends conferences and presents research, while also creating physiotherapy awareness content to make useful information accessible to students and the public.
Her father remains the person she most admires. Ketan M. Rathod taught her lessons that extend far beyond academics—from punctuality and handling important responsibilities to maintaining relationships and treating people with fairness. She recalls how he would often arrive at hospitals and clinics before her while she was applying for opportunities. His consistency and balanced approach to people are qualities she hopes to embody.
Jhanvi also believes strongly in giving back. She has voluntarily worked as an on-field physiotherapist at two state-level powerlifting competitions and a taekwondo competition in Surat, and has participated in a free health camp. These experiences allow her to contribute beyond her regular clinical responsibilities while strengthening her connection with the community.
As a young professional, she is still at the beginning of her journey, but her message comes from personal experience: never give up. Failure, even repeated failure, does not determine where someone will ultimately reach. Sometimes the path demands that you try, fail, learn and try again—more times than you ever imagined.
For Jhanvi, success is still being written. But after everything she has overcome, one thing is certain: she is no longer defined by the examinations she failed, but by the determination with which she kept moving forward.
Dr. Sneha Tiwari, Sports Rehabilitation Specialist, Founder – Momentum Sports Clinic & Sneha Sports Physio Academy
Dr. Sneha Tiwari is a Sports Physiotherapist, Sports Rehabilitation Specialist, entrepreneur and speaker, and the Founder of Momentum Sports Clinic and Sneha Sports Physio Academy. With over seven years of professional experience, her work spans sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, pain management, strength and conditioning, and helping athletes return to their sport stronger and more confident.
Her journey into physiotherapy began with cricket. A cricketer herself, Dr. Sneha represented Hyderabad at the U-16 and U-19 levels as a wicketkeeper and batter. At 18, an ACL injury abruptly changed the course of her sporting journey. Rehabilitation introduced her to physiotherapy and showed her the transformative role it could play—not only in healing physical injuries, but also in rebuilding confidence and helping people return to what they love. What began as a setback eventually became her purpose.
After completing her BPT and MPT, she pursued specialised education in sports physiotherapy and football medicine, along with international certifications and rehabilitation programmes. Her professional journey has since taken her into high-performance sporting environments, where she has worked with athletes and teams including state cricket teams, men’s Ranji and U-23 teams and women’s cricket.
Building Momentum Sports Clinic marked another important chapter. Entrepreneurship demanded an entirely different skill set from clinical practice. Alongside treating patients, she had to learn leadership, finance, branding, marketing, operations, team building and business strategy. Her vision has consequently expanded beyond a conventional clinic: she aims to build a sports rehabilitation, performance and wellness ecosystem that can take people from pain to performance.
Her inspiration comes from people who continue to grow despite adversity, along with the mentors, athletes and patients who have shaped her perspective. As a woman entrepreneur, establishing credibility, making difficult decisions independently and navigating spaces where women can sometimes be underestimated have been challenges. Rather than allowing these experiences to define her, Dr. Sneha has used them to strengthen her identity and let her work speak for itself.
Education is another important part of her journey. Through Sneha Sports Physio Academy, she conducts workshops and educational programmes for students and young professionals. She also speaks at professional platforms, including TEDx and national conferences, and creates educational content to make scientific knowledge around injuries, rehabilitation, recovery and performance more accessible.
Her message to aspiring professionals is to start before they feel completely ready. Skills, knowledge, networks and character are built through action, learning and consistency. For women especially, she believes there should be no hesitation in taking up space and creating an identity of their own.
For Dr. Sneha, her story can be summed up simply: she turned her biggest setback into her biggest purpose. From athlete to physiotherapist, educator, speaker and entrepreneur, every stage has shaped her vision. Success, she believes, is ultimately about impact—helping an athlete return to the field, helping someone overcome pain, inspiring the next generation of physiotherapists or creating better standards of rehabilitation.
And fittingly, Momentum represents more than her organisation. It represents her philosophy: keep moving forward, keep learning and keep creating momentum.
Dr. Adity Pandey (PT), Physiotherapist, Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), Founder – KiNova Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
Dr. Adity Pandey (PT) is a physiotherapist, Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and the Founder of KiNova Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation. Her approach to physiotherapy is centred on personalised, evidence-based care, with an emphasis on helping patients understand their conditions and work towards better movement, function and independence.
Physiotherapy began as a career choice for Dr. Adity but gradually evolved into something she wanted to build her life around. Her professional experience across clinical practice, teaching and a US-based physiotherapy setup gave her exposure to different approaches to patient care and ultimately strengthened her desire to create a practice of her own. Taking a step outside her comfort zone, she invested her savings and independently established KiNova.
Starting a clinic from scratch brought its share of uncertainty. Financial pressures, the responsibility of building a patient base and the constant question of whether the practice would succeed tested her confidence. Rather than allowing those concerns to dictate her approach, Dr. Adity focused on the fundamentals—giving every patient her best, understanding their individual concerns and explaining their condition rather than relying on routine treatment protocols.
Over time, patient results, referrals and word-of-mouth helped KiNova gain momentum. Within its first couple of months, the clinic was seeing around 20 patients a day, a milestone that gave Dr. Adity confidence that the foundation she was building was beginning to take shape. Yet, she remains grounded about the journey and considers herself a work in progress, with much more to learn and accomplish.
Her sister, Mishti Pandey, a YouTuber, has been a major source of inspiration. Watching her create an independent identity through consistent work taught Dr. Adity the value of believing in herself and staying committed to her goals. Her friend Nikhil Singh has also been an important source of encouragement, particularly during the more challenging phases of building the clinic.
As a woman entrepreneur, one of her biggest challenges has been learning to trust her own decisions. Building a business brings financial and emotional pressure, and moments of self-doubt are inevitable. For Dr. Adity, however, those moments have ultimately strengthened her confidence and resilience.
Beyond clinical practice, she creates content around physiotherapy, rehabilitation and professional life, while particularly enjoying interactions with students and young physiotherapists.
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple: don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you begin. Take calculated risks, keep developing your skills and give yourself time to grow. Most importantly, do not compare your beginning with someone else’s success.
Dr. Adity does not consider herself “successful” yet. For her, success is found in the smaller milestones—seeing a patient improve, earning someone’s trust and knowing that she built something of her own. KiNova, she believes, is only the beginning.
Dr. Jagjit Singh Malik, PT, Chief Physiotherapist
Dr. Jagjit Singh Malik, PT, is a Chief Physiotherapist with more than 19 years of clinical experience, specialising in complex and challenging cases. With a Master’s in Hospital Administration, a Master’s in Sports Physiotherapy and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Sciences, his career reflects a constant pursuit of clinical knowledge, entrepreneurship and professional growth. Today, he runs seven physiotherapy clinics across different hospitals, along with two charitable physiotherapy clinics focused on making quality care more accessible.
Interestingly, physiotherapy was not the profession he originally imagined for himself. As a child, Dr. Jagjit dreamed of being part of the film industry. He wanted to perform, create and connect with people, but growing up in a strict family environment meant that pursuing that dream did not seem possible. He eventually entered the medical field and became a physiotherapist. What initially felt like a departure from his childhood ambition gradually became a journey of discovering a different kind of stage.
Over the years, Dr. Jagjit built a career that extended beyond clinical practice. His entrepreneurial journey also took him into the fitness industry, where he established three fitness clubs. While two ventures faced losses, he chose to continue. His determination eventually led to Endurance Fitness Club in Sonipat, which he ran from 2013 to 2019. The venture became a significant milestone, developing into a prominent fitness destination and introducing one of the early CrossFit sections in North India.
Fitness brought him recognition, while physiotherapy gave him purpose, respect and a professional identity. Through years of clinical work, entrepreneurship and content creation, he has also built a community of more than 1.11 lakh followers. Yet he considers his patients, family and professional journey equally important milestones.
Dr. Jagjit describes himself as his own inspiration. His ambition, he says, has always come from within. He has faced failures, business losses and difficult phases, but has never allowed temporary setbacks to define him. Instead, each challenge became an opportunity to learn, adapt and work harder.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, he is passionate about educating fellow healthcare professionals. He conducts workshops and training programmes across India, sharing his knowledge and experience in High-Velocity Low-Amplitude (HVLA) thrust techniques and chiropractic sciences. For him, professional success also means contributing to the growth of others.
His philosophy is straightforward: give your best to whatever you choose to do, stay serious about your dreams and remain committed even when circumstances become difficult. He believes that hard work can get you started, smart work can take you further, but the courage to continue when things fall apart is what ultimately shapes a meaningful life.
Dr. Jagjit may not have entered the film industry as he once dreamed, but he found his own platform through healthcare, fitness, education and content. His journey is a reminder that sometimes life changes the destination without taking away the dream of creating something extraordinary.
Dream it. Believe it. Work for it. Achieve it.
Dr. Divyansha Gehlot, Consultant Physiotherapist, Founder – Chill with Cure Physiotherapy Clinic
Dr. Divyansha Gehlot is a Consultant Physiotherapist and the Founder of Chill with Cure Physiotherapy Clinic in Jodhpur, which she established in 2025. For her, physiotherapy is not simply about treating pain. It is about helping people understand their bodies, improve movement and become active participants in their own recovery.
Her fascination with the medical field naturally drew her towards physiotherapy. What appealed to her was the profession’s emphasis on movement, exercise, awareness and patient participation. She describes herself as an ordinary student rather than a topper or gold medallist, but her journey has always been driven by sincerity, curiosity and a genuine desire to learn. Most importantly, she has remained committed to listening to her patients and giving each of them her best.
After completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur, she began her professional journey with the mindset of continuing to grow. Her internship became an important turning point, making her more serious about the profession and strengthening her desire to contribute to physiotherapy beyond clinical practice.
This also led her towards digital education. She began creating physiotherapy-related content on Instagram, initially with a simple intention: to use her knowledge to educate people and make useful information more accessible. Rather than chasing instant growth, she focused on consistency, continuously working on fresh and meaningful content. Over time, her digital presence grew organically and opened new opportunities, becoming another extension of her professional identity.
Her biggest inspiration is her mother, whose strength, fearlessness, positivity, honesty and willingness to help others have deeply influenced her. From her, Dr. Divyansha learned to remain positive during difficult circumstances, approach challenges with strength and retain the intention to help others.
As a young woman building her professional identity, she has also experienced the challenge of being underestimated or facing preconceived notions about what she can achieve. Her response has been to remain confident, work sincerely and allow her actions and results to speak for themselves. She believes ambition and compassion can coexist, and that strength does not require compromising femininity.
Beyond physiotherapy, she values family, meaningful relationships, personal growth and continuous learning. She believes that professional ambition becomes more fulfilling when accompanied by personal wellbeing and balance.
Her message to aspiring professionals is to not let insecurity or early self-doubt define their potential. She encourages people to stop comparing their timelines, embrace opportunities, respect their own progress and remain consistent even when results take time.
For Dr. Divyansha, success is not about reaching a particular position. It is about working with honesty, excellence, consistency and the right intention. Her guiding philosophy remains simple: “Work with excellence; success will follow.” She believes that when intentions are sincere and efforts remain consistent, challenges become lessons and opportunities gradually find their way into the journey.
