In their Indian Premier League encounter, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs to go to the playoffs. GT was halted at 188 for nine after Shubman Gill’s stunning century and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s amazing five-wicket haul.
GT held SRH to 154 for nine with the ball in possession. Heinrich Klaasen led all scorers for SRH with a 64-ball 44, as the hosts’ Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma both claimed four wickets. Wriddhiman Saha was out for a duck when GT was asked to bat first, but Gill hammered 101 off 58 balls to help his team establish a strong foundation.
Shubman Gill hits hard
What a setback for Gill this has been. Pure cricketing shots—neither showy nor unconventional—were what got him there. What incredible shape he has been in over the past six to eight months. The Titans will have a good chance of winning the tournament if he can continue to play at a level that is even somewhat close to what he did tonight
Departure of Rahul Tewatia. Gujarat Titans are currently losing a couple fast wickets while attempting to force the issue. Despite being in the 90s for some time, Shubman is unable to return the blow. Here, the Titans have entirely lost their path. And it appears like SRH has a chance with the bat
The final score for Sunrisers Hyderabad is deceptively flattering. After the first few overs, they were never involved in the game. They are also eliminated from the competition as a result of the loss. In the Orange Army, there is a lot of reconstruction that has to be done, and it will take some time.
On the other side, GT has advanced to a new round of play-offs and appears to be the favourite to win their second championship. Both yesterday and today, Mohammed Shami has been simply brilliant with the new ball. If Hardik can regain his form, beating GT in the race will be very difficult
Mohammed Shami’s bowling in this IPL would not be out of place in a Test match. The Sunrisers Hyderabad appeared to have no idea how to handle the new cherry’s superb bowling. They could afford to treat Shami with the respect he deserved since the total they were seeking was not so large.
However, Anmolpreet Singh decided it was appropriate to attempt a hoick off a back-of-a-length ball and was caught at third man after getting a top edge. Rahul Tripathi led Shami to Rahul Tewatia at slip as he practised proper catching technique behind the wicket.
A careless waft from the returning left-armer Yash Dayal sent Abhishek Sharma packing. Shami was too hot for even the captain, Aiden Markram, to handle.
