Dr. Amita Sunny Thakur, Cosmetologist, Founder – Dr. Amita’s Skin Aesthetic Clinic

Dr. Amita Sunny Thakur is a cosmetologist and the founder of Dr. Amita’s Skin Aesthetic Clinic, where science-driven treatments are combined with personalized care. As a skin and aesthetic doctor, she specializes in advanced skincare treatments, laser procedures, anti-aging therapies, acne management, and pigmentation correction. For her, aesthetics is not just about enhancing appearance. It is about restoring confidence, self-worth, and encouraging self-care.

Her interest in skin and aesthetics began during her early medical years. She strongly believed that when a person feels comfortable in their own skin, it reflects in their personality and overall presence. With that conviction, she pursued advanced training in cosmetology and decided to establish her own clinic. Her vision was clear. She wanted to create a space where medical science meets aesthetics, and where patients feel heard, respected, and never judged.

The journey of building her clinic has required patience and perseverance. Starting a medical practice involves significant investment, from advanced machines to infrastructure, along with the challenge of earning trust in a competitive field. Growth did not happen overnight. It came through consistent results, ethical practice, and patient satisfaction. Over time, her clinic built a strong foundation rooted in credibility and care.

Her biggest inspiration has been her family. The encouragement from her parents, husband, and in-laws gave her the courage to pursue her dream confidently. As a woman entrepreneur in the medical field, she faced moments of self-doubt, societal expectations, and the pressure to balance family life with professional ambition. Establishing credibility in a competitive, often male-dominated space required resilience. Yet, she believes that women do not have to choose between family and career. With support, discipline, and determination, both can flourish together.

Beyond her profession, she embraces her roles as a mother, wife, and homemaker. She enjoys creating educational skincare content to spread awareness and loves celebrating life’s small moments with her family. For her, success is not limited to professional milestones. It includes building a happy home and meaningful relationships.

She believes success is built quietly through consistency, faith, and hard work. It is shaped by early mornings, long days, and unwavering commitment. For her, true success lies in the confidence she restores and the trust her patients place in her. And she believes this is only the beginning of a much larger journey.

Dr. Ankur Verma, Emergency Physician, Certified Carnivore Coach

Dr. Ankur Verma is an Emergency Physician with nearly two decades of experience, a Certified Carnivore Coach, and the host of The DESI EM Project podcast. His work today stands at the intersection of emergency medicine and metabolic health, driven by a deeply personal turning point.

In 2021, a routine blood test revealed triglyceride levels of 600 and a dangerously high TG/HDL ratio. As a physician trained to recognise acute crises instantly, he was forced to confront a silent one unfolding within himself. That moment reshaped his trajectory. Determined to understand the root cause, he returned to foundational medical sciences and expanded far beyond conventional curricula, studying biochemistry, metabolism, nutrition science, anthropology, and evolutionary biology.

Through this deep inquiry, he began questioning modern dietary patterns, particularly high carbohydrate, grain heavy, predominantly vegetarian diets common in India. After transitioning to a carnivore forward, animal based dietary approach, he observed dramatic improvements in his own biomarkers, energy levels, and overall health. In his 40s, he describes himself as fitter and metabolically stronger than he was in his 20s. Similar transformations in his family and close circle strengthened his conviction.

Within the emergency department, he began noticing recurring metabolic patterns underlying acute presentations such as heart disease, diabetes complications, fatty liver disease, thyroid dysfunction, autoimmune disorders, and cognitive decline. This observation led him and his team to conduct prospective epidemiological analysis within their patient population and publish case series exploring nutritional and metabolic drivers of disease.

In 2021, he launched The DESI EM Project to expand conversations around emergency medicine and metabolic health. Through interviews with clinicians, researchers, coaches, and individuals who transformed their health, he broadened public dialogue around lifestyle driven disease. He now offers carnivore based metabolic consultations, guiding clients who report improvements in conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, fatty liver disease, autoimmune disorders, and more.

Dr. Verma continues to experiment on himself, collecting data and sharing observations about species specific lifestyle approaches. Outside medicine, he prioritizes family time, travel, social connections, and intense physical training.

He does not consider himself successful yet. For him, success is ongoing work. His message to aspiring professionals is clear: seek to inspire, not merely influence. In his view, reversing chronic disease through lifestyle demands perseverance, consistency, and discipline, and the journey is far from over.
